When I was a little girl, some of my fondest memories are playing games with my friends and family. We didn’t have tablets or computers to play games on, we relied on our imaginations to have fun! These days, technology seems to be taking over everything, which is just how the world is evolving, but I want my kids to have the same kind of fun that I had as a kid and develop their fundamental skills. I do love that there are many apps and games that promote education, however I don’t want them to be disconnected and stop using their imaginations.

Our Favorite Games From Goliath Games and Pressman Toy

Doggie Doo

Doggie Doo is the cutest little game that my kids love. They love the little “poo” that plops out and the fart noises it makes in the process. They get to feed the dog and then squeeze the leash which pushes the poo out with air. They have to spin to see how many times they get to pump the leash, if at all, and whoever gets to clean the poo, they get a fart token. This is such a silly, but fun game!

Catch The Fox

With Catch the Fox, you roll the dice to see how many times you get to push his head down. You never know which push is going to make the fox lose his pants, which hold little chickens inside! When he loses his pants, the little chickens get loose! My kids get so excited with the anticipation of when he will lose his pants. Then, the first one to fill their chicken coop, wins!

Jumping Jack

Spin the card to see how many carrots you get to pull from the hole. You never know when the jack rabbit will fly up in the air! Whoever can catch Jumping Jack, wins! My kids can’t wait to see when he will fly into the air with each carrot pulled out!

Giggle Wiggle

The word ‘giggle’ is an understatement when my kids play Giggle Wiggle! They laugh so much as the caterpillar wiggles all around as they try to get their marbles in his hands. He plays music and spins around, but watch out, your marbles might fall off when he spins. But my kids love this so much because the music keeps them going and laughing.

Lucky Ducks

Lucky Ducks is a great game to teach basic shapes, this matching game combines developmental skills for young children. There are 12 ducks, with 4 different shapes – a star, a square, a circle and a triangle. The child will pick a side of the pond and as the ducks swim around, they have to pick up the ducks and check the bottom to see what shape it holds. Whoever collects all 4 ducks with their shape, wins! This is a great “first” game for kids!

My Thoughts:

I love playing these games with my children and watching them enjoy playing with each other as well. It’s such a great way to challenge them and allow to learn problem solving, and fundamental skills. I love how busy it keeps them after preschool and the fact that they haven’t wanted to be on there electronic devices as much. My kids have been learning to play games much more patiently together by waiting nicely for their turn. One great thing about all of these games is that it has encouraged my children to actually cheer each other on instead of being super competitive. They encourage each other to win and these games have brought them closer together.
