How do you make learning fun? This has been a question that I have struggled with for decades as a homeschool mom. Of course you could ask the obvious question..Does learning need to be fun? I’ve always been in the camp that learning is necessary and not all subjects will be fun or interesting. Well, this mom was given a wake up call with a couple of our children that struggled in their studies until I learned to involve their minds and bodies in learning. This combined use of hands-on and brain power learning is what the Osmo Super Studio is based on. They really have discovered what it takes to bring learning to life.
Osmo Studio
Tangible Play Inc. — the business behind the Osmo brand — was founded in 2013 by Pramod Sharma and Jerome Scholler, who set out to create “something awesome that inspires the youngest generation,” while at the same time addressing a concern of many parents about how to have their children interact with technology without losing the value of hands-on play.
By 2014 the first three Osmo games, Newton, Tangram, and Words, were launched to universal praise from parents, educators, industry experts, and most importantly, with overwhelming support (and giggles) from our most challenging critics, children. Since its début, Osmo has expanded its family of games to include Numbers, Masterpiece, Coding Awbie, Monster, and Pizza Co., incorporating unique characters, such as Awbie, Mo the Monster, and the Pizza Co. gang. We’ve taken the Osmo fun to new heights (while pleasing mom and dad with enhanced learning).
To date Osmo has been named one of Time Magazine’s Best Inventions, is a Parents’ Choice award winner, a winner of the prestigious Oppenheim award, and a 2016 finalist for Toy of The Year. Osmo is sold in over 42 countries, delivered via nine international distribution centers and has been embraced in more than 30,000 schools.
Osmo Base Kit
This kit is a great starter set to the Osmo universe. The base unit includes everything needed in order to experience the hands-on learning and digital fun of the system. There are basic games included that transform your iPad (not included) into a hands-on learning tool.
Games that bring basic core subjects fun. Even math (Numbers) and spelling (Words) are brought to life. Other games drill down on other essential skills such as the Tangram for visual thinking, the Newton for creative problem-solving, and the Masterpiece to encourage self-expression through design.

My Thoughts:
My crew loves using their devices. They use them for playing games and watching videos most of the time, but I am always on the look out for Apps and games that are both fun and educational.
Osmo Studio offers a variety of games that are challenging and just fun too! Both the younger ones and adults alike have enjoyed the Detective Agency game. How fast can you find a particular building or tower when looking at a map? Or who can guess the answer when given a list of similar items?
With the Osmo Studio, you can turn your iPad into an interactive unit that recognizes the pieces placed in the play area. It really is a unique gift that makes learning fun.
Puzzles and other challenging games will keep your crew engaged instead of allowing them to check out of the family time. Osmo merges the real world games with the virtual world to crush the boundaries of play.
I also appreciate the parent app that comes with the games. Through it you can track the usage and progress of your children in the games.
Bring learning to life this holiday season with Osmo. You can purchase the Osmo system at PlayOsmo.com and Amazon.com, as well as your local Target and Best Buy stores.
