About National Geographic Kids
National Geographic Kids Books is featuring eight new titles that will make perfect gifts. These books are gift worthy due to their stunning images, engrossing topics, and fun features. Plus they are educational on top of it all.
Ultimate Predatorpedia
This book is fascinating and will keep you and the kids intrigued for hours. It is a book filled with fierce animals that prey on others to survive. There are creatures as small as ants, and all the way up to lions and sharks. My son was engaged immediately due to the beautiful and large pictures. Some are very graphic and animals are shown in the act of catching prey. He especially loved those pictures. Once the pictures catch your eye, you will want to stay on the page to learn fun facts about the animals.
Just Joking Jumbo 2
National Geographic Kids -Just Joking Jumbo 2 will give your children fits of laughter. There are silly facts that are strange, but true. Plus there are great pictures through out the book. There are silly lists, knock-knock jokes, conversation jokes, and long story style jokes with funny endings. You can laugh and learn right beside your kids with this crazy book packed with funny jokes. I was so tickled by this book, and was just reading the jokes to my teen son. He was a good sport and listened to all the puns with a good attitude. I know my nephew will adore this book and will be on the same page as me. The jokes are hilarious and the pictures are fun. There is so much to take in with this awesome book!
Fly With Me: A Celebration of Birds Through Pictures, Poems, and Stories
This book is full of breathtaking pictures of our flying, feathered friends. Its focus is on the role birds play in human life through the ages. Most Noteworthy is the original poems found through out the book among the real science and interesting facts. In these pages you can learn about migration, habitat conservation, bird nests, ways to identify birds, as well as which birds are the largest, smallest, strongest, and so much more. Plus the release of this book is timed to National Geographic’s celebration of the Year of the Bird. This is their 2018 initiative to share with people the plight of birds around the world. Therefore this book would be a great gift for avid birders, animal lovers, teachers, and friends.
To the Moon and Back: my Apollo 11 Adventure A Pop-Up Book
This book is a celebration of the Apollo 11 Mission’s 50th Anniversary. In it, Buzz Aldrin shares his personal stories which run through a full range of emotions. As well as the stories, the book is punctuated by intricate pop ups and paper folds. I was impressed with the pop ups in this book, because they are not your average childish variety. Instead they are intricate and look so real due to the vivid photos. There is a lot to learn in this book, and you can also build your own Apollo 11 lunar module. My nephew will love looking at the pop ups and reading the fascinating stories. This is a terrific way to help him learn about space travel and what is possible.
Ultimate Secrets Revealed: A Closer Look at the Weirdest, Wildest Facts on Earth
This world we live in is filled with bizarre, and very weird truths. This book will take you behind the scenes of some of the strangest events and facts. There it will reveal the truth behind these oddities. There is info on mysterious crooked trees in Poland, space smells like burnt plastic, bacteria in Yellowstone National Park that make Morning Glory Pool pop with color, and so much more. My son has poured over parts of this book and has shared some crazy things you could never even conceive! Plus each weird event has a picture that shows the reality of it.
There are a few other books I didn’t delve into. There is one fiction book called Explorer Academy: The Nebula Secret, which looks great. It has puzzles and codes through out the book to solve which is so cool and will be a fun read. Then there is National Geographic Kids Why Not?: Over 1,111 Answers to Everything which has answers to questions to just about anything imaginable.
