Alright Moms, what happens when you pour a cup of hot coffee? I bet you rarely get to drink it while it’s hot because the little ones need you. Mine seem to time it perfectly, just as I sit down with my sweet and creamy coffee and suddenly I’m in high demand with the little kids. What’s a Mom to do, right? Then I came up with an idea that allows me to keep an eye on the younger kids while they are learning and still drink my coffee while it’s hot! Let me tell you about how I get my peace and coffee.

My Thoughts:
So my typical morning goes something like this. The coffee pot is already hot and ready since I set it the night before. I pour my coffee and fix it up in my favorite mug. I also grab my journal and my latest inspirational book and get settled at the table. No sooner than my butt hits the chair then I hear “Mom!!” And even if I don’t answer, the voice(s) calling me get closer and closer. Then they want breakfast, want to watch whatever their favorite show, and so on. And my poor coffee mug sat getting cold, all alone on the table. But no more!
I ordered a new coffee pot from Hamswan that brewed 10 cups of coffee and would keep it warm even after it was done brewing. It includes several water “spouts” so that all of the ground coffee is brewed evenly through the whole basket. The filter is reusable so I don’t have to worry about keeping extra filters on hand anymore. I can brew a whole pot of coffee in about 6 minutes! It’s easy to see just how much water I’ve already added with the small view windows into the water tank.
Now I set up the coffee pot the night before, but I don’t hit the start button until I’m in the kitchen in the morning. Then I go ahead and make the kids their breakfasts, usually some oatmeal or cereal, depending on what each child is eating that morning. It doesn’t take long for them to gobble it down and put their dishes on the counter while I’m fixing up my coffee cup and getting my books ready at the table.
