Having a sick child no matter their age is tough. And having to wake them up to take their temperature just is wrong. But you need to monitor them for their safety not to mention your peace of mind. With the new TemporalScanner™ by Exergen you do not have to wake them up to take their temperature. As a mom, this is something that is important.
The Exergen TemporalScanner™ Thermometer is a non-invasive system with advanced infrared technology providing maximum ease of use with quick, consistently accurate measurements. Advanced, patented technology measures temperatures with a gentle stroke across the forehead.
The thermometer is easy to use, with just a few simple steps: Simply depress and hold its large, soft button and lightly scan across the forehead. A red LED light and soft beep indicate a correct scan.
Nearly two billion temperatures are taken each year with the TemporalScanner™. It is used in thousands of hospitals, clinics and pediatricians’ offices across the country, as well as in millions of homes. In addition to being the #1 preference of pediatricians in the United States, it is the #1 preference of nurses, and the #1 selling retail thermometer.
The TemporalScanner™ Thermometer is tested six times for accuracy during manufacture at Exergen’s plant in Watertown, Massachusetts and comes with a one-year warranty. It runs on one 9-volt battery (included), and meets and exceeds all regulatory requirements, including FDA, ASTM, EC, and UL.
Created by Harvard-research scientist Dr. Francesco Pompei, the TemporalScanner™ has become one of the most efficient, non-invasive thermometer ever created. The Exergen TemporalScanner’s performance is supported by more than 50 peer-reviewed published studies covering all ages from preterm infants to geriatrics and all care areas from hospitals to homes.
How It Works
By reading the temperature by capturing the naturally emitted heat from skin over the temporal artery, which runs across the forehead and is directly connected to the heart via the carotid artery. Results are shown in two seconds.
How To Use
After pressing the on button, simply glide the thermometer in a straight line over the front center of the forehead.
The TemporalScanner™ has features that make taking a temperature easy.
The display screen has a soft light which allows for easy reading in a darkened room. No need to turn on the lights to take a temperature.
8 Temperature Memory
The system stores the last eight (8) temperature readings which is helping to track fever progression.
Sounds can be turned off to avoid waking up patient.
°F or °C Mode
The TemporalScanner can be programmed to display the temperature in either °F or °C settings, depending on your preferences.
Not having to wake up a little one when they are sick just to take their temperature is great. It’s hard enough to get them to sleep comfortably anyway. So the last thing I want to do is wake them up.
I like how easy this thermometer is to use, and not just on the little ones. Even the “man cold” can be monitored which really helps them get through their cold.
Now I will say that there is a learning curve to using this thermometer. I recommend reading all the instructions carefully and thoroughly to ensure you obtain an accurate reading.
