Make Packed Lunch Exciting Again
Are your children bored with the standard packed lunch fare they have to bring? Peanut butter and jelly can get very boring after a few weeks. Since my children do home school, they are always looking for something new and exciting to have for lunch. That challenge is even harder when you have to pack lunch for children who won’t be eating it until much later. Here are some great snack ideas that will make school lunch, whether home or at school, new and exciting.
Saffron Road
These crunchy chickpeas from Saffron Road are a great snack for children. They have the healthy benefits of chickpeas with a delicious chocolate coating. Your children will get a great source of protein that is non-GMO verified and organic. Plus the crunch is so satisfying and yummy. These chickpeas were my first choice anytime I needed a pick me up through out the day. They satisfied my sweet tooth as well as giving me protein for lasting energy. They can easily put in a packed lunch for a nutritious, decadent treat.
McClure’s Pickles
McClure’s Pickles are very particular about where they get their local produce. That way they can offer customers the freshest, best produce available. Then each jar is hand packed with their family recipe. Their products are all natural, gluten free, and kosher certified. We all really loved these pickles and my husband was even drinking some of the pickle juice when the jar was empty. The Sweet & Spicy pickles were awesome on cheeseburgers, and just by themselves. The pickle spears were delicious and perfectly crunchy. Most pickles sit in the fridge for a very long time, but our four jars of McClure’s were gone in the blink of an eye. They also have potato chips that are very good as well. Therefore grab some chips and pack them as lunch snacks for your kids, and give them a pickle spear wrapped up as well. They will love their lunch for sure. In fact my son got a bowl and just piled pickles in it to eat as an afternoon snack. It is great to see a kid reach for pickles instead of junk food.
Expreco ProSticks
These ProSticks by Expreco are full of protein, giving you 21 grams in each package. They are hand made, grilled to perfection and a perfect on-the-go snack. They come in three flavors: Sweet Sriracha Style, Mediterranean Style, and Chipotle Style. The packaging makes them ideal for a school lunch because all you or your child has to do is move it from the fridge to their lunch box. Then at school they open it up and it is good cold or hot. The sauce is right there for them and they are getting a great source of protein. All three of my kids love having these ProSticks for lunch. I am glad they are eating protein instead of carb loading like they tend to do when possible. My daughter will eat a plain tortilla if she doesn’t see anything that interests her. Now instead of that she helps herself to the Mediterranean Style ProSticks, which are her favorite.
WhirleyBird Granola
This WhirleyBird Granola comes in handy pouches that are made to eat right out of. You can open it and add milk or eat it plain, and there is even a folded plastic spoon to use. It makes a great healthy breakfast before school, or a great snack in the lunch box, or after school. WhirleyBird Granola is all natural, gluten free, non-gmo, and vegan. They make it in small batches with organic agave nectar and an Ohio pure maple syrup. I love this granola! I really was glad to have such convenience at my finger tips. For breakfast I add some almond milk right into the bag and indulge in chocolate granola that is delicious. I could eat this everyday and be totally happy. The kids love it to, and it is easy to add into a lunch box or a backpack as a in between snack.
Now you can throw in a ProSticks, and a WhirleyBird Granola, add a McClure’s pickle spearor chips, and some Saffron Road into your child’s thermal for an epic packed lunch. They will have a new and exciting lunch, and all their friends will think you are the best mom ever!
