In this day and age, almost everyone has a cell phone. Even my elderly parents and several of my young grandchildren have their own phones! And we all love to travel, but that can be an issue when it comes to your cell phone provider, especially if you’re traveling internationally. But Alcatel has come up with a solution, so you can enjoy your summer freedom with the Alcatel 3V, an unlocked smartphone that can be taken globally.

My Thoughts:
Recently, my husband and I took a trip to Ireland and spent almost 2 weeks exploring, eating, and learning about this beautiful country. I contacted my current carrier to make sure I understood how my smartphone would operate overseas, as well as to understand all the charges I could expect. Long story short, I should have made other arrangements…
Lesson learned.
So with my upcoming trips, I can now plan on taking the Alcatel 3V. One of the best selling points for me personally is that it’s unlocked; that means I can use it for almost any carrier, instead of having to have a certain phone for each cell phone carrier. Now I don’t have to worry about if I stay with my own carrier or find another in my destination, as long as I have service while I travel!
And if you take a ton of pictures like I do, you’ll probably appreciate the 18:9 display ratio, along with dual rear cameras (12MP and 2MP) with a flash as well as a 5MP front facing camera for those fun selfies! Having two rear cameras allows you to focus on a subject up close while still capturing the background but at a different resolution. Plus, they have some neat features built into this phone like the Instant Collage which allows you to layout your own photo collage in real time with several layouts to pick from and the Picture Booth function where you take 4 pictures and share them instantly! And don’t forget the Social Square Mode where you can instantly review photos on part of the screen while still having the ability to snap a photo of the action on the other half. So you don’t miss a shot while you’re looking over the last few you took.
I also won’t have time on my trip to keep charging my phone. So I really appreciate that the Alcatel 3V has a 9 hour talk time battery while also boasting of a stand-by time of 370 hours without needing to charge. I think that should be plenty of time to take my photos, videos, and answer work emails and texts and not worry about my phone dying in the middle of my adventure.
You can also upgrade the storage of the phone with an expandable Micro SD card with 128GB! The phone already comes with 16GB built in, which is plenty for my every day use. I like being able to have extra Micro SD cards on hand in case I need to swap them out in the middle of a trip without worrying about uploading them all while I’m out of the country. You can also keep your phone secure by using your fingerprint or their facial recognition software to unlock it instantly.
The phones uses Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, and comes with several Google apps already installed like Google Music and Google Assistant (which I’ve been using all the time). It’s a snap to use all of my Google programs even while I’m on the go, keeping everything up to date and in one place, no matter where I am.
Ultimately, I think this phone would make a great choice for someone who’s traveling internationally, having family members going out of town without a phone, or anyone looking for an unlocked phone so they can get the best deal on a plan built for them. You can count on summer freedom with the Alcatel 3V which can be found on Amazon and Walmart websites.
