Planning a party for a child’s birthday should be a breeze, but it can get overwhelming quick! When our Princess was turning 3, she requested everything have her favorite character on it: Minnie Mouse. Oh, and it all had to be in white, pink, or purple since those are her favorite colors, and so on. I tried to get everything I needed from the local stores but apparently this mouse is a popular girl! But we don’t disappoint the Princess if we can help it, so I took the simple route of easy party set up with Birthday in a Box!

My Thoughts
I loved being able to go to a single website and order everything I needed for the party, except for the food. It was literally as hard as opening a box and setting up for the birthday party! Birthday in a Box seems to have something for everyone, kids or adults, and a ton of ideas and themes to choose from. I’m definitely going to use them again, whether I just need a few party supplies or if I’m going all out.
Here’s a little about what I ordered and how we set it up for the Princess’ 3rd Birthday Party. Oh, and since there were a number of young boys also attending her party, she decided to throw in a few Mickey Mouse decorations since he’s Minnie’s friend.
Room Decorations:
We wanted everyone to get excited as soon as they came inside for the party, so we started by hanging Minnie Mouse Helpers Hanging Swirl Decorations and a Mickey On The Go Jumbo Letter Banner. Plus, we added a few helium filled balloons to tie to chairs both inside and outside. The kids loved the decorations we used and quite a few of them were taken home so they could decorate in their rooms. The swirl decorations would spin and catch the light from the streamers, looking almost like disco lights.
Table Decorations:
We had a few tables to decorate that held food, gifts, and other various party items. The Mickey On The Go Table Decorating Kit included a large table centerpiece and two smaller ones with various characters on the different sides. And it included small cutouts to toss around the table and counter tops to add to the party theme. And we included different pieces from the Mickey and Minnie Photo Prop Kit around the tables too, so the kids could not only play with them during the party, but also hold them up for the ton of pictures we took! We also scattered some coloring pages I had printed out and set a handful of crayons near each place setting for extra fun.
Fun and Games:
No party would be complete without fun and games! We had a trivia game about Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the gang; since the kids were already getting sugared up from the cupcakes and punch, we handed out Mickey On The Go Bounce Balls to add to their treat bags. And of course, after the cake but before the gifts, we took all the kids outside to take a turn at the Minnie Mouse Happy Helpers Pinata Kit we set up in the yard! The kit came with a Minnie Mouse pinata, filler candy, and even a blindfold. Then the loot was added to their treat bags to take and eat at home.
Food and Drink:
We didn’t do a full meal for this birthday party, but heavy on the snacks and of course, plenty of cupcakes. In keeping with the theme, we used Minnie Mouse Helpers 9″ Lunch Plates and Minnie Mouse Helpers Lunch Napkins for the food. Then for the cupcakes, I used the Minnie Mouse Cupcake Baking Cups and put them in the Minnie Centerpiece Cupcake Stand as a display. She also got to choose from 4 candles which were included in the Minnie Mouse Helpers Candles set to light for the big moment. Not to leave out the boys, we used the Mickey Mouse Straws with the drinks of punch and water, perfect for little hands to use.
