Each Charming Scents Starter Kit comes with a bangle, refillable locket, logo charm, and scented ceramic disc. The scented discs can be replaced when they run low (about 30 days), or you can simply change the scent of the day when the mood strikes! Plus there are several decorative charms you can add to the bangle to personalize the Charming Scent Kit to fit your personality.
Installing the bangle is pretty simple: you unscrew the metal ball clasp, loop the bangle around your rearview mirror neck, and screw the clasp shut tightly. Repeat this same process to open the refillable locket when you need to replace or refill the scent disc. Since the bangle runs through the locket, it stays tight as long as it’s kept on the bangle.
I love that you can change the scent disc in a snap so you can take it with you in your rental car for a road trip or when you know you’re picking up the kids after a sweaty sports game! Each scent has several layers, including a top, mid, and base layer so you get an awesome blend of scents all at once. If you want to personalize your Charming Scent bangle, you can add one or more of these adorable charms! They come in designs such as a rose, the word “love”, sports items, and even seasonal pieces like an apple or a pumpkin! Some pieces have color and some are metal based, but they all slide on just as easy as the locket does, by unscrewing and tightening the ball clasp. I think it’s always interesting to see what people keep in their personal cars on a normal basis. You might find toys and abandoned shoes in one of our cars, wiper fluid and work hats in another, and mine always has craft supplies and items for donating as they get collected during the week! Personalizing you car is just another way to show your personality to other riders, not to mention, keeping it styled and scented with the help of Yankee Candle Charming Scent Kits! We immediately opened the kits to check out the different scents as well as the decorative charms so we could sort out who wanted what in their vehicle.
We all had different preferences when it came to which scent we wanted so that was perfect! I like a more dark and musky scent in my car, especially when I’ve got several boys in the back seat coming home from soccer practice. One of my daughter’s loves the “clean” smell like cotton and laundry, so she installed that bangle onto her rearview mirror immediately. And the citrus/floral mix along with the Rose charm went into the family van as a more neutral and family pleasing scent.
The bangles are super easy to install or remove to make any changes, plus they make a pleasant tinkling sound as they sway back and forth while you drive. None of the metal parts are shiny, so don’t worry about getting sun reflected in your eyes.
On a personal note, if you live in an area that consistently has high temperatures, you could find the initial scent overpowering when you first enter your car. As a way to combat this, we break the scent disc in half and only use part of it until it needs to be replaced. This isn’t a problem in the cooler months of course, but after sitting in the sun with the air not running, those scents can be a bit much at first but eventually fade as you run the A/C. Simply pop the other part of the scent disc into a sealable plastic bag and store in the glove compartment or seat back until it’s needed.
