My crew loves being outside in the summer. They turn into little brown bears and I burn walking from the car to the house..not really but pretty quickly. This summer we are able to enjoy being outside again because of our beachBUB umbrella.

It all started in 2010 when our founder Bill Schermerhorn noticed a major problem as he was trying to enjoy the beach. On a beautiful, sunny day a sudden gust of wind picked up the beach umbrellas and he saw a huge danger with that. Thus after re-imagining the beach umbrella anchor and obtaining a patent the beachBUB, or beach umbrella base, was born. Soon after that he realized that a sturdy and lightweight umbrella needed to follow. Fast-forward to 2017 and the beachBUB Setup was completed. An invention that helps us relax faster and more easily on the beach. We’ll call that innovation at it’s finest.
All-In-One Beach Umbrella System
This umbrella system protects you and your family from the harmful effects of the sun. The complete kit includes an over sized umbrella, a beachBUB Ultra Base, a sturdy duffel style carry bag, a Sand Scoop Shovel, a Towel Hook and a Sand Gopher Tool. All combined the system weighs less than ten (10) pounds. The umbrella has a UPF rating of 50+ and will hold up to winds blasting at 35 MPH.
My Thoughts:
Whether we are headed to the beach or the park, protecting our skin from the sun is important. My little ones just seem to soak up the sun. I on the other hand, burn quickly and that does limit our ability to enjoy being outside when the temperatures climb.
I like how easy the beachBUB umbrella is to set up. When at the beach, it is easy to use the sand to weight the umbrella base so that it not only stays in place but holds up against the gusts of wind that are frequent at the shoreline.
When we are home or at the park, we have been using rocks to weight the umbrella base so we can still enjoy the coverage the umbrella provides.
The umbrella itself is really sturdy. The brackets are strong and do not flex or give when opening or closing.
There is a vent at the top which allows the heat to escape but prevents rain from getting inside. And there is a hook system that helps keep our bag or towels off the ground.
I also like that the umbrella set is lite weight and it comes in a duffel style bag with a carry strap. Being able to keep all the working parts in one bag between use is important..ask any mom who has spent hours looking for a missing part to something!
