My Thoughts:
Doing our part to protect our environment is important to us as a family. When possible we opt for the better choice in products and try to reduce our footprint as much as possible. This includes supporting brands that take protecting the environment seriously like Planet does with their home cleaning products.
When I received the Planet products, I immediately opened them to check the smell and feel of the soaps. The dish washing soap doesn’t really have a scent which was nice. It is quite concentrated and just a little bit goes a long way.
With the size of my family, I am washing dishes several times a day and I keep a small bowl with soapy water ready to use for quick cleanups. The dish washing soap cleans dishes and cuts grease with just a small amount of product. I like that I can do an entire meal of dishes without having to make another sink of hot soapy water. It rinses off easily and leaves no residue.
Several of my crew have sensitive skin and will break out in a rash if I use the wrong products in the laundry. This has been tough at times to find something that was strong enough to get their clothes clean yet gentle enough to not trigger their skin sensitivities.
I used the laundry soap on towels as the first test run. They came out clean without a noticeable scent. After a couple of days of my crew using the towels without reactions, I washed several loads of clothes and no one has had a problem.
Now that I have been using the products for several weeks, they will be products that our family continues to use. Knowing that I can use them and not worry about irritating the skin on my little ones is comforting. I can still vividly remember how bad I felt when we were visiting relatives and I didn’t notice granma doing laundry for the little ones to help us. Within a few hours the little ones were scratching and shows red spots where their clothes touched their skin. Definitely something I want to avoid when possible.
I haven’t tried the other products that Planet carries yet but based on how well their dish and laundry soaps work, I will be giving them a try too.
