Finding fun activities is easy. Finding fun activities that are also educational and stimulate your child’s imagination is another story. Unit Bricks meets this challenge with their STEM building projects.
Unit Bricks
Unit Bricks has stepped beyond blocks to equip children with the tools they need to build the world they want. The latest in dynamic modelling systems, our new Mini Unit Beams Bridge Builder set provides a rich and rewarding STEM environment. With no additional tools required, budding engineers are ready and able to create, develop, re-work, and marvel at their creations.
Mini Unit Beams: Bridge Builder Set
This set of building blocks takes what you think about blocks and takes it to a new level. With 620 beams in 15 different shapes, along with other shapes and parts, this set challenges your child’s brain in ways they haven’t been challenged before while playing blocks.
It is multi-sensory and tactile in approach, which encourages children to be actively engaged as it builds eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills.
My Thoughts:
Over the years, my crew have had all types of blocks and building type games. They have created villages and built buildings and boats from different products. They were excited when they saw the picture of the bridge they were going to take on in this set from Unit Blocks.
Boy were they in for a surprise! This has been the most challenging set of plans they have ever had to follow. I think it is wonderful! The boys have been working on their bridge for a couple of hours after school each day and have found it to be a lot more challenging that they expected.
At this rate, they should get their bridge built about the time they graduate, just kidding, but this bridge kit does take a good deal of time and attention. With over 650 pieces to set into place, my guys are still trying to get it all figured out. I am enjoying watching them imagine something and then struggle to figure it out. They have started over more than a dozen times as they “get it” and figure out a better way to construct their bridge. I can’t wait until they complete their bridge and have it to display.
They are both already talking about some of the other projects they would like to build. Unit Bricks has a crane set that they are both planning on working towards earning it.
Activities like this bridge engage children both physically and mentally. Watching their eyes light up when they figure out a step that has given them a hard time is amazing.
