My Thoughts:

Since I love cooking, cookbooks are of course my favorite books. And while I know that most recipes can be found online, there is something about having the physical book that makes me happy.
When I make a recipe for the first time, I usually follow the directions as printed with very few exceptions. Things like spices that I know my family preferences may get tweaked but for the most part, I prepare the dish per the directions. Then depending on the opinions of my crew, I will write notes in the recipe for the next time the dish is prepared. If my family enjoys more garlic or heat, I will just change the ingredient list. If we want to swap out an ingredient, no problem – just make a note beside the ingredient list for the next time we make the recipe. Another reason for having the printed book..you can make notes in the margins about cook times or favorite pans you need to use.
What about you? Do you have printed recipes or favorite cookbooks that you have notes all over? If so, make sure to check out all the amazing cookbooks available on Robert Rose Books. You know they also make awesome gifts for friends and new brides!
