My son started high school this year and part of his curriculum is performing community service. As a Cub Scout, then a Boy Scout, he has done community service through the years and actually enjoyed it. Each year they would do a big food drive for our local Food Shelter. It made all the boys feel good to hear how much more food they collected each year compared to past years. That hometown teamwork was a source of local pride. That’s what makes our little town full of community spirit.
This year, the Freshman class has the opportunity to help on a higher level in the fight against hunger. With the support of parents and the school, they want to help with Feeding America. I can’t wait to see how they do!
