Butter Braid® Pastries- Fundraising Can Be Delicious #Review

August 14, 2017 by Misty Stephens

School is back in for certain areas, and the rest return very soon.  With school comes the ever present Fundraiser, a vital way for the school to make money for their needs.  With Butter Braid® pastries, fundraising can be delicious and simple.  If you want a Fundraiser that is easy to sell and easy to eat, get with your school and mention Butter Braid® pastries.

About Butter Braid® Pastries

Since 1991, Butter Braid® brand fundraising has helped nonprofit groups, moms, and volunteers raise over 200 million dollars to better kids, schools, and communities.  Butter Braid® pastries has a passion to put only the best fundraising product into your hands.  These pastries:

  • Have quality ingredients; flour, sugar, and butter
  • Are braided by hand with care
  • Have a homemade appearance and taste
  • Are made in small town Iowa
  • You make a difference with each pastry you buy

Butter Braid® pastries are available only through fundraisers, so support your local schools and community organizations.  These pastries are great for family gatherings, holidays, special occasions, or simply just because!

Baking Your Butter Braid® pastries

Butter Braid® pastries come frozen in clearly labeled white packages.  When you remove the Braid you place it on a cookie sheet and cover it with plastic wrap.  Before you put the wrap on, spray it lightly with cooking spray so it doesn’t stick to the braid.  Then you let it sit out to defrost and rise for 8-12 hours. When it rises up to about double the size it is ready to bake.  Remove the plastic wrap and bake the Braid for 22-27 minutes at 325 degrees.

Mom’s Thoughts

I remember years ago buying one of these Butter Braid® pastries from my friend’s daughter.  It was very good, and I was excited to try some more flavors this time around.  After all it is good to be thorough and ascertain if all the flavors are as good as the cream cheese one I had long ago.  This time I was able to try these popular flavors:

  • Blueberry & Cream Cheese
  • Strawberry & Cream Cheese
  • Apple
  • Cinnamon
  • Double Chocolate
  • Four Cheese & Herb

Every single Butter Braid®pastry was fantastic.  The dough baked up crispy and flaky on the outside and stayed moist and soft on the inside.  The filling in them was generous and delicious.  The icing added just the right amount of sweetness on top and it was a dessert my children loved.  They did not leave a crumb and were constantly asking me to make another until they were all gone.

I really do not have an all around favorite, but I especially like the cream cheese ones.  Most noteworthy was the Double Chocolate, which we all loved.  I was not as anxious to eat that one, since I am not a chocolate lover.  I was surprised at how very good it was, and would easily buy this one next time with a cream cheese one.  My husband said hands down the Double Chocolate was the best.  It was so good with the warm chocolate inside, the flaky, crispy chocolate pastry outside, and the icing.

The texture is what makes these Butter Braid® pastries so good.  They really are a great Fundraising choice because people enjoy things that taste so delicious.  Plus they have fundraising availability in the 48 contiguous United States, so they are great option to make some money for your school or organization.

For those who are not into sweet desserts, the Four Cheese & Herb Butter Braid® pastry is for you.  It is a nice hearty pastry that pairs well with many dinners.  We ate ours with ribs and potatoes.  The braid was very yummy, flaky, and made a really special addition to our dinner that night.  I think it would be great with pasta, roasted chicken, and even a thick soup.

Whether you like sweet pastries or savory bread, Butter Braid® pastries has something you will love.  Remember you can only buy these delicacies through fundraising, so get with your school a local dealer now!
