Antsy Pants – Creative Play
As a parent of a 14-year-old down to a 4-year-old, I have seen many new toys on the market in my 14 years of parenting. Just when you think that they have come up with everything, toy makers blow you away again with another. Antsy Pants is one of the toy sets that I just look at and wonder… Why didn’t I come up with that idea?! How fun!
Antsy Pants Build & Play Sets
With a combination of being imaginative in WHAT you build, kids also then have imaginative play once they have completed their construction! Antsy Pants has 3 different sized play sets, sold in Target Stores.
- Small – 68 pieces
- Medium – 81 pieces
- Large – 123 pieces
Each kit comes with a variety of poles and connectors that are color coded. Of course, the bigger the kit, the more pieces… the bigger the masterpiece! If your child wants to build a construction using the Antsy Pants Covers, they can follow the directions very easily with the color coded pieces and photos in the included instruction books. No reading is necessary!
Aside from the building kits, Antsy Pants also has a set for children to make obstacle courses as well.
Fun Antsy Pants Covers
With a variety of covers, kids can not only build the finished product but then they can let their imagination truly soar with the themed covers. Turn a few poles, connectors and a cover into an ice-cream truck ready to “sell ice-cream to all the neighbor kids”.
- Lemonade Stand
- Donut Shop
- Farmers Market
- Tent
- Circus Tent
- Play House
- Fairy Castle
- Ice Cream Truck
- Pirate Ship
- and creative kits
The creative kit comes in two different shapes, a box type shape and a tee pee type of shape. It is a solid white washable cover and comes with a set of markers. Talk about REALLY allowing creativity to flow, children can make their very own creation!!!
My Thoughts
I really like Antsy Pants. The poles and connectors are very easy to put together but not so easy that they come out of place. Once a pole was attached to the connector, it would not move until we went to intentionally take it apart. We have had too many building toys that fall apart everytime you start to put a new piece together… this was not that way!
The cover options are ones that my kids can really get creative with after it is built. So the building part is fun, yet the playtime wasn’t over just because the building part of it was. The cover options give them a feel as if they are really selling ice-cream from an ice-cream truck, or a pirate boarding the pirate ship!
