About La Maison du Chocolat
La Maison du Chocolat was founded in 1977, when founder Robert Linxe was 48. He opened his first boutique in Paris, and it was completely dedicated to chocolate. The philosopher Jean-Paul Aron even nicknamed Robert “The Sorcerer of Ganache” because he invented modern chocolate and created ganaches with the most delicate flavors. Robert found a subtle balance that exemplified the signature Maison du Chocolat taste. Soon after he made his first ganaches with fruit creating his legendary Salvador and Andalousie ganaches. Then in 1990 La Maison du Chocolat opened a boutique right in New York.
The beautiful packaging that surrounds the wonderful chocolate is credited to Atelier Hapax. Since Atelier Hapax has a modern and elegant spin on recycling, Maison packaging has a new beginning. Now it has boxes, shopping bags, and ribbons we want to keep forever.
