The items all arrived packaged beautifully. This saves time and energy in the gift department. I picked several types of items since it was so hard to make up my mind. Due to the vast number of choices you could shop for days and still miss something. My items arrived quickly since they are shipped from Chandler, Arizona, where the store is located. Though you get your items from Arizona they are in fact genuine articles, often hand made in Russia by traditional artisans. Several times a year The Russian Store hand picks and gathers a large assortment of items in Russia and then brings them to the U.S to have them available to us here.
Here is a beautiful little Kholuy Troika Lacquer Box that is hand painted with a popular Russian Troika. It is brightly colored and has gold accents that really pop against the black background. This lacquer box makes a great place to store jewelry and other small items. It also looks great in my china cabinet on display. I like the horses in the picture, they are whimsical and nicely colored. It reminds me of age old art. I feel like my little box is an antique even though it is new due to it having so much character.
Here is the Crystal Spider on Silver Web trinket box. This small box is decorated with sparkling Austrian crystals on the spider and on the web. The box is silver plated so it shines and sparkles because of the crystals. I love insects, so I was very drawn to this unique box. It your tastes run to different animals The Russian Store has many to choose from. Out of all my beautiful items this one is my favorite. Not only is it my favorite, but my children have tried to get me to give it to them for their rooms. I had to nicely tell them no this one is mine.
Here is my Honey Amber Butterfly Pendant, which looks so lovely on my neck. The amber is very nicely cut and shaped into the shape of the wings. Then it is surrounded by silver and shaped with small curves and points. It is here on a pretty silver chain also from The Russian Store. Most noteworthy is that the necklace fits nicely in either my Spider box, or my Lacquer Box.
Last but not least is my cute Russian Doll Cozy which is in the shape of the matryoshka doll. This one features a Gzhel style against blue. It is hand made with high quality cloth in order to keep your tea water hot. I have always loved the Russian dolls and I have several nesting dolls. As well as few matryoshka dolls that hang on my Christmas tree. I always called them “Babushkas”, but I guess that isn’t the authentic name. Regardless of what they are called, I love the look of them. At the Russian Store I can get lots of kitchen accents that are Russian doll styles like aprons, and pot holders.
