Creativity is the Building Block to Success
Think about every job there is known to man. Every single one, in some way or fashion, uses creativity. Most everyone is born with a natural interest in being creative but creativity is definitely something that is enhanced during the childhood stages through games, toys, and crafts. Here are a few games and a craft that will encourage creativity in not just children but adults too!
IllumiCraft Light Up! Jewelry Organizer
If you want to encourage creativity AND boost your child’s self-esteem, give them a craft like the IllumniCraft Light UP! Jewelry Organizer. My friend’s daughter had so much fun putting together her very own jewelry organizer. Often, crafts stick around for just a short time before they get thrown in a box or in the trash. Not THIS one, she hung it on her bathroom wall to USE and was super proud of her own work.
Included in the kit:
- 2 sheets of sparkly, decorative, shaped foam sheets
- 3 sticker sheets
- plastic decorative shapes
- paper decorative shapes
- 5-color paint set
Lady Richmond
Games, in general, are a super fun way of encouraging creativity! In the game Lady Richmond, players must find ways to keep up with all the actions in the game to use their money the wisest will win. There is bound to be a lot of laughs as different heirlooms are thrown into the auction while players are trying to find the perfect time to bid. It’s the one time that cheating is ok.
Word on the Street
I am always looking for games that can be played with just 2 players. We enjoy family game night but a lot of times just one of my kids will want to play a game on another night. So, this game has been perfect for just that! Get creative with your words to move tiles to your side of the street by using the catch-phrase to come up with the word that best fits! First to collect 8 tiles wins. Sometimes, the game will go fast but other times it may take longer.
Sunrise Safari
My daughter absolutely loves this game. I think her favorite part is rolling the dice but while she is having fun rolling the dice, she is also learning patterns! Everyone is rolling the dice at the same time while trying to fill your board up as quick as you can with the animals on the challenge card. First person to fill their card them grabs the meerkat in the center of the board to win. It’s fun and fast moving!
Lil’ Lemonade Stand-Off – A Memory Matching Game
This game is fun but absolutely adorable as well! Each player has a lemonade stand. Players take turns flipping challenge cards, trying to memorize the pattern of the cups (their colors and position as well as making sure only certain cups have lids). It is much harder than it looks! Will you take the challenge?
