3 Course Date Night Kit: Filet Mignon over Buttery Mashed Potatoes + Cheese Course & Flourless Chocolate Cake:
For the main course, a perfectly marbled, properly aged, Georgia Grown filet mignon rests atop a mound of velvety mashed potatoes. Refreshing bites of spicy arugula tossed in a tangy cider-vinaigrette add balance to a luxurious meal.
How it Works:
I was very impressed with how well-packed and well-labeled all the ingredients were. They even took extra care to wrap an egg in bubble wrap inside of a plastic container. Even all the spices were labeled in tiny ziploc bags. The meat was kept in a separate bag and had extra cold packs to keep it as fresh as possible. The potatoes looked better than the ones I get at our local supermarket. I was in love with our dinner before I even cooked it!
The first course: Sweetgrass Dairy Green Hill Cheese with Elderberry Jelly:
This course was super easy to make. I just had to slice the bread, sprinkle with Olive Oil and brown it in the oven. The cheese was delicious!
Second Course: Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes and Arugula Salad with Cider Vinaigrette:
My husband swears the Filet was the most tender he has eaten in years! I have to agree. We pan seared it first and then put it in our Griddler for 5 minutes. It was perfectly done. The Seasoned Salt was the perfect seasoning for the Filet. It brought out the flavor of the meat without adding spices that weren’t needed.
The Final Course: Kathleen McDaniel’s Flourless Chocolate Cake:
My son helped me make the Flourless cake. It was super easy and the end result was AMAZING! We ended up eating our with whipped cream and some Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. It was super chocolaty and moist!
