There’s a reason the classics are coming back – well, many reasons!
I was always a huge fan of classic wooden toys, and I’m so happy to see them make a comeback – especially as my children are growing up! But they can be prohibitively expensive at times. Cubbie Lee Toys creates beautiful, high quality classic wooden toys at affordable prices.
So you have all the benefits of wooden toys, without the empty wallet.
Some of these benefits include:
- They are much more durable. They last from child to child and on to the next generation.
- Kids eat toys! Wouldn’t you rather them mouth natural wood rather than synthetic plastics?
- They look so much nicer when kids leave them around. Even more so, you can display them on open shelving, even on dresser tops, as part of the decor! Plastic toys are much too tacky for that…
About Cubbie Lee Toys:
“When Cubbie Lee’s founders, Zach and Sarah Lee, had their first child, they quickly became aware of how difficult it was to get good quality toys that were still affordable.
Rather than filling the nursery with flashy, plastic toys that broke easily, they wanted to find toys that would last and last. They wanted toys that provided both educational value and heaps of fun for their little one (and their other two children that soon followed!).
It was on one of these searches that Zach and Sarah decided to take matters into their own hands, and the Cubbie Lee Toy Company was born (the name comes from their much loved family dog). Today, Zach and Sarah work with a team of toy-lovers, to bring the finest wooden toys to parents around the US.”
Cubbie Lee Toys follow along with everything you’re looking for in a classic toy: simple, vivid shapes, solid wood construction, and educational themes. From puzzles to pull toys, from fine motor to pretend play, you know your child will learn while playing!
Cubbie Lee Toys are tested to high safety standards and safe for your child to play with. You don’t need to be concerned that inexpensive means compromising on health (as some inexpensive wooden toys can contain lead paints.) You can rest assured that these toys are wholesome for your child, down to the materials use.
Cubbie Lee Train Set:
This classic train set comes in two sizes: a thirty piece and seventy piece version. The photos and features listed are for the 70 pieces set.
This train set comes with all the props you need for a full pretend play experience. Train sets are really cool toys to have, as they stimulate imagination, offer pretend play fun AND teach a little bit of engineering hands-on.
You have props such as stand-up community buildings, electric poles, vehicles, block houses, trees, people, and more!
The three wooden train cars attach magnetically and are painted in vivid detail.
You get plenty of train tracks, cut precisely to fit together. They were sturdy enough that they stayed in place.
The seventy piece set has loads and loads of accessories. In addition to the scenery accessories mentioned above, you get a suspension bridge, a station that connects right to the tracks, traffic signs, car crossing and supports to make an elevated track. So it’s so much more than a train set. It’s a full pretend play and building experience, complete with toy cars.
Cubbie Lee Wooden Blocks:
Every child needs a great set of classic wooden blocks! It teaches so many vital, basic skills. As a matter of fact, “block stacking” is a milestone that helps gauge how your child is doing developmentally.
Motor skills and hand eye coordination is improved with every block, while they also provide an opportunity to teach colors, shapes and numbers. Imagination, sharing and cooperation also comes into play, as your little one grows into a slightly less little one!
Cubbie Lee wooden blocks come in especially bright colors, mixed with some natural shades. You can get a 50 or 100 pack set (pictured is the 50 set.) The craftsmanship is superior, with no rough edges – great for ages one and older. It’s a toy that truly grows with your child. My favorite part: it’s self-storing! These wooden blocks come with a handy bucket for storage.
Cubbie Lee Toys Pound Bench:
This may just be one of the more important toys that M missed out on when he was very young. Pounding helps children build essential core body strength (which he is lacking). Six wooden pegs fit perfectly into the holes, and the pounding hammer is perfect for little hands. I love a toy that’s just as big as it needs to be – and this one is neat, not too bulky, but totally big enough. M gets to practice hand-eye coordination by fitting the pegs back into the holes.
Cubbie Lee Toys Marine Puzzle:
A child can never have too many puzzles!
Beginner peg-style puzzles are very important for young children to learn essential problem-solving skills. This puzzle offers ten shapes to fit and match with the outline version pictured in the hole. That gives much more play and a slightly bigger challenge than puzzles with fewer parts! Your child will also learn about the different things that can be found in the water.
Cubbie Lee Toys Shape Sorter:
Here’s to self-storing toys!! I simply adore them.
This magnificently-crafted shape sorter is pretty enough to sit on top of the dresser or book shelf. You have plenty of shapes and unique ones to expand the challenge for your child, making this a toy that will go just a wee bit further. Once your child is done with it, use the box as a tissue-box holder in the playroom, and the blocks together with building blocks!
Cubbie Lee Toys offers classic wooden toy solutions that will take your child past those first few years. They teach essential skills and grow with your little one, while lasting from child to child.
