You CAN Manage your Home without Losing Your Mind! #DeslobificationNation

November 13, 2016 by Pam Maynard

I’m not sure how anyone knew that I was in desperate need of some solutions my house’s dirty little secrets, but I was very glad to get this P & G Home Care Gift Pack and Dana White’s book!  The reality-based de-cluttering strategies and hard-learned lessons learned by Dana are all here in one book: How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind!

About the Author:

Dana K. White is a blogger, speaker, and (much to her own surprise) a Decluttering Expert. She taught both English and Theatre Arts before leaving her job to make her family her life’s work. In an attempt to get her home under control, Dana started blogging as “Nony” (short for anonymous) at A Slob Comes Clean.  She soon realized she was not alone in her housekeeping struggles and in her feelings of shame. Today Dana shares realistic home management strategies and a message of hope for the hopelessly messy through her blog, weekly podcasts, and videos. Dana lives with her husband and three kids just outside of Dallas, Texas. Oh, and she’s funny.

Did you know that the first step to the whole Change-Your-House process is doing the dishes?  Doing them again tomorrow is where the real magic will happen!  Sounds crazy?  Kind of, until you read the why in Chapter 6!

About the Book:

“The dirty little secret about most organizing advice is that it’s written by organized people,” says blogger, speaker, and decluttering expert Dana K. White. “But that’s not how my brain works. I’m lost on page three.” Dana blogs at A Slob Comes Clean, chronicling her successes and failures with her self-described “deslobification process.” In the beginning she used the name “Nony” (short for aNONYmous), because she was sharing her deep, dark, slob secret. Now she has truly come clean—with not only her real name but the strategies she has developed, tested, and proved in her own home. She has learned what it takes to bring a home out of Disaster Status, which habits make the biggest and most lasting impact, and how to keep clutter under control. It’s all in this great book: In How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind!

In How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind, Dana explains that cleaning your house is not a onetime project but a series of ongoing premade decisions. Her reality-based cleaning and organizing techniques debunk the biggest housekeeping fantasies and help readers learn what really works.

With a huge helping of empathy and humor, Dana provides a step-by-step process with strategies for getting rid of enormous amounts of stuff in as little time (and with as little emotional drama) as possible.

If you need lists to check off- you can get printables on A Slob Comes Clean.  If you struggle with focus, these checklists might be just what you need to get you on track!

Yes, I am using the appendix- 28 Days to Hope for Your Home to de-slob my house.  Don’t laugh, I had to start over a few times.  Once I got to Day 8, sweeping the kitchen was a new task, I forgot to do it Day 9 so I had to start over.  But I am on my way to getting control over the clutter- one dirty dish at a time!
