I am a music lover. And being a music lover, usually means needing a good set of headphones. So I was excited when I received the Audio Technica ATH-SR5BT Wireless Headphones.
I have gone through many sets of headphones over the years, so I wanted to see how this set matched up.
Right away I noticed that these headphones looked and felt like a quality product. These do not feel “cheap.” I was also pleased with how soft the ear pads were. Comfort is a non-negotiable in my opinion when it comes to headphones. These have enough weight to them to not feel “cheap” yet they are light enough to feel comfortable.
WHAT YOU GET: With these headphones you get a USB charging cable which you can connect to a laptop in order to charge the headphones. The manual says it takes about 5 hours to fully charge the battery, but based on the indicator lights, mine appeared to be charged in about half that time. There is no battery level meter on them; only a blue light which will appear when they are fully charged. The USB cable is specifically designed to charge this product and cannot be used to transfer data like a regular USB cable.
It also comes with a detachable 1.2 m (3.9’) cable which can be used with a laptop or smartphone. This cable has an in-line controller switch which allows you to pause your music or answer/end your phone call, if using it with your smartphone.
The third thing it comes with is a nice bag to carry everything in.
HOW THEY WORKED: I followed the instructions on how to pair these wireless headphones via Bluetooth to my laptop. I found it to be very easy and only took 15-30 seconds to get it connected and start listening to my music. There is also a switch on the side of the headphone which allows you to start/stop a song or select the next/previous song.
I then tried to connect it to my iPhone. At first, I couldn’t get it to connect. My iPhone wouldn’t recognize the headphones, but then I realized it was because I had a poor cell signal. Once I walked to an area where the signal was better, it recognized the headphones and I was able to connect immediately.
The sound quality was very good, I think. I was really happy with how they handled the different songs I played.
So, if you are in the market for a new pair of wireless headphones, I would definitely recommend giving these a try!
