When my son was nearing his first birthday, getting his first haircut was another a milestone I was excited to experience. Of course I was sad because those beautiful shiny baby locks would be gone, and that meant I would have to keep up on his haircuts regularly. But, it was a proud moment for my husband and I.
When we made the appointment, as first time parents of course we made sure got the most expensive package for first-time haircuts. The picture taken, the lock of hair saved, the whole nine yards. It was going to be great.
As we drove to the kids salon, I could almost picture it. He would be sitting happily in the car-shaped chair, cape draped over him holding a lollypop as he watched the cartoons in front of him. Hah, boy was that was a cute day dream. The reality was of him crying uncontrollably, almost as if they were removing his fingers one by one. Probably the most dramatic thing I’ve ever seen. I wont get into it all, but needless to say, it was rather a mess. I was so upset that it hadn’t gone the way we planned.
Figuring each time we went it would get better, it was actually the complete opposite. The atmosphere of the kids salon just wasn’t his cup of tea. Rather, he disliked haircuts more and more, so as a result, I decided to try and cut it myself. It seems like it made a world of difference.
Using the Gland Hair Clippers was such a better experience for us. Since they are super quiet and gentle, he actually giggles and says its tickles. Of course a lollypop is a great treat for him at home, but the ease of these clippers making such an amazing difference in my son’s haircutting experience was a treat for my husband and me. Most of all, I love the fact that I can charge it and use it cordless, hence making it an even easier hair-cutting experience.
Consequently, I would highly recommend these clippers for any parent that has a child afraid of haircuts. Most of all, it gives me and my husband the chance to get creative, as a result we feel a sense of accomplishment. All while keeping our son happy while getting a trim.
