You’ve been trying to start a family, watching your cycles, done testing at a Missouri Center for Reproductive Medicine and gone through the first horrible trimester. Now it’s finally time to celebrate your pregnancy and upcoming parenthood.
Having your first baby shower is always exciting, especially if the guests have a reason to be in suspense. If you are looking for some great gifts for mom-to-be, check out Diapers.com. Invite all of your friends and family to gather together and find out the gender of the baby you are celebrating as you set up for your first shower. Here are some cute ideas for an awesome and memorable gender reveal.
Color Reveal Cake
Have a cake made for the party that is neutral on the outside. Perhaps just a normal white cake with some generic baby decorations. However, once the cake is cut, guests will see if the color of the cake is pink or blue, revealing the gender of the baby. Have guests vote what their guess is before cutting the cake to see who was right!
Balloon Launch
Put either blue or pink balloons in a box and leave it tightly closed so no one can see. Once you are ready for the reveal, open the box in front of all of the guests so the balloons float up, making the announcement visual and fun. Have people stand on either side of the box, one voting for girl and one voting for boy, to see who is correct before launch.
Pass the Envelope
Have your guests come to your party wearing a small amount of pink or blue, depending on what they think the gender of the baby is. When you go in for your gender scan, have the tech write the gender of the baby on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. At the baby shower, open the envelope and find out with everyone else what the gender of the baby is, as people can then celebrate in their team colors.
Confetti
Fill balloons with either blue or pink confetti prior to the party and as guests arrive, give them each a balloon and a pin. Altogether, have everyone pop their balloons, revealing the color of the confetti and the gender of the baby. While this sounds like it could be messy if done outside, it’s a quick cleanup and the excitement of the moment more than makes up for it.
There are a lot of fun and different ways to announce the gender of your baby to your friends and family. Making it a part of the first baby shower is a cute idea in order to get the guests involved in the party and keep things exciting.
