When Digital Eye Strain Keeps Us from Balancing it All #ProtectYourEyes #IC #Sponsored

July 28, 2016 by Victoria

Disclosure: This sponsored post is a part of the campaign “Protecting America’s Eyes” by Reticare in order to inform U.S. citizens about the importance of eye protection from device screens. The opinions expressed in this post are entirely my own.

For the past six years I have been a work at home mom.  It has been an experience that is amazing, difficult, exciting, rewarding, fulfilling, and stressful — all rolled into one.  Like many parents who have children with them 24/7, finding the time to work is often a balancing act.  I try to do as much work as possible when my children are in bed so my work time doesn’t interfere with my mommy time. Am I really succeeding at this?  No.  No working mother is ever 100% successful at making work-life and mom-life truly balanced. But we can use the tools available to us to make it less difficult.

(And I laugh at my own sentence “less difficult”…)

Earlier this year I became pregnant with our seventh child.  Of course, pregnancy comes with all sorts of fun things we moms have to adjust too.  One of the biggest difficulties I have experienced during this pregnancy is that I cannot handle looking at my computer screen very long.  I, especially, cannot handle the brightness from the screen in a dark room.  As a WAHM who does the majority of her business at night — that’s a huge problem!  I haven’t been able to work at night for months.  The eye strain becomes too much for me and I end up needing to “rest my eyes” within thirty-minutes.  Often, my brain is wide awake, while my eyes scream “no way!”  This leaves me wrestling with my own body over what I need to do, what I want to do, and what my body will allow.  There is nothing more frustrating to any human being, than having the mind set to do something that your body doesn’t allow.

When I heard about Reticare, I immediately had to try it.  If Reticare’s eye protector screens can protect my eyes from the harmful effects of high-energy light emitted from my laptop AND help me get back to being an awesome WAHM who can, almost, balance it all — I’m IN!

Are you IN too?

65% of Americans experience symptoms of digital eye-strain!

I know I’m not alone.  Nobody wants to suffer from Neck/shoulder/back pain, eye strain, headache, blurred vision, and dry eyes.  Nobody can work with these symptoms.

Reticare protects our eyes from 3 risks:

  • Sleep disorders
  • Computer Vision Syndrome with symptoms such as red eyes, blurry eyes, irritated eyes and headaches
  • Retina damage which is the most important risk.  Retina damage can onset Glaucoma, Cataracts and Macular Degeneration which can lead to blindness.  Once the retina cells die from being overexposed to high energy light, they don’t recover.  So we must protect our eyes with Reticare to keep our eyes healthy.

Since I started using my Reticare screen on my laptop, I am able to work at night while my husband and youngest child sleep.  I can even work with my screen set to the highlight level of brightness, which is something I have never been able to do before!

Reticare is a product we all should be using on our digital products to protect our eyes.
