Are You Ready for Anything? You can be!
Summer is a busy time for catastrophic weather! June is the official start of hurricane season and the peak of tornado season for some states. With National Emergency Preparedness month coming up in September- I want to make sure you have plenty of time to get prepared! Live Prepared sent me this amazing 72-hours Home Emergency Kit- it gives me peace of mind knowing we are one step closer to being ready for anything!
How do I prepare?
Proper planning and preparation is essential for a parent’s day-to-day survival, but in the case of an emergency, it can make all the difference in a family’s world. Seventy-five percent of parents agree that emergency readiness became a higher priority when they had children, yet 50% of parents don’t even know where to start. The trick is finding the time to download the list of recommended products, running around to purchase everything, properly storing your kit items, and tidying them away in an organized fashion.Live Prepared emergency readiness kits make it easy for parents to check preparedness off their to-do list by including everything they need to be secure, nourished and have peace of mind in an emergency. Having a kit on hand means parents can provide a prepared and peaceful home for their family, which in turn helps them worry less and enjoy their families more!
About the kit:
We may call it “Standard,” but this entry-level all-in-one emergency kit is fully equipped for above-average emergency readiness. It doesn’t matter where you live, what types of natural disasters are common in your area, or what unexpected short-term crises might come up, this kit has everything you need to overcome it all. Instant cook-in-pouch meals, drinks, water filtration, toiletries, tools, first aid, electronics—even playing cards to help pass the time. Consider yourself covered with our one-person Standard 72-Hour Emergency Home Kit.
I love that you can expand your kit and add-on an adult! The chart above explains what you get when you add-on.
My Thoughts:
Have you ever thought about what you would do in an emergency? Is your family ready if you were told you had to evacuate your home or that you would have no electricity for days? My hubby has always been thinking ahead for such situations. He has lots of supplies, but every time we take inventory, there are always a few things we are missing. That’s what I love about the Standard 72-Hour Emergency Home Kit.
They cover just about anything your family would need!
Food:
The meals provided are things your whole family will love! There is Macaroni and Cheese, Pasta Alfredo, Oatmeal with Berries and more! The best thing about them how easy they are to make AND you will have a hot meal. All you need to do is add boiling water, seal the package, wait 15 minutes and enjoy! Don’t worry, in the gear, you will find a pot and heat source to heat the water!
Gear:
Not only do you get cookware, you get Silver Survival Blankets, Ponchos, Flashlight multi-tools, a solar-powered radio with flashlight and even a water bottle with a filter built in. AND… it all will fit inside the Red Emergency Backpack. My hubby loves that we now have an “Emergency Go Bag” stocked and ready to go. Shh, don’t tell him we tried the macaroni and cheese. It was really delicious- I was surprised!
About the Solar/Crank Radio & Charger:
9 band AM/FM and weather alert radio, 3 LED flashlights, built-in rechargeable battery can be charged by adapter, hand cranking or solar panel, includes standard built in USB port to charge most cell phones and more. Gotta love that!
First Aid:
As a Health Care Worker for over 25 years, First Aid it always top on my list. Someone is always going to need pain reliever, band aids, or tweezers. This little kit even has a carabiner so you can hook it to the backpack or your belt.
