When we (parents) were kids, we used to play a computer game that was set in the past. While playing, we were engaged in game-based learning about history, maps, life skills, and critical thinking. This week while playing KNeoWorld I was reminded of that old game, and I thought it was fascinating to transform the concept and flip it forward for a new generation — helping them imagine the future through an edutainment app!
Who doesn’t love to think about the future?
We have been thinking about it all of our lives.
Welcome to the year 2253! No human life has been on Earth for eighty-five years, but the KNeoExplorers have landed and are ready to explore this planet that is unknown to them. Although they feel a strong connection to Earth, they don’t know enough about it to know why. The continents have shifted and the landscapes are much different than what Earth is today. Together, players and the KNeoExplorers are going on an adventure that is new to everyone…
Take your young learner on an adventure!
KNeoWorld is already being used in a number of New York City public schools and is a great way to encourage your children to learn through play via the technology they love. There is no better way to learn than when you are so engaged you have no idea you are learning. Kids think they are playing a fun futuristic game and, in turn, end up on a fascinating learning adventure!
KNeoWorld has over 120 games in the first series of 24 episodes
for kids aged 6-12 years old with 3 players per membership.
Every Galaxy Needs a Hero
Begin playing by reading the comic-book style adventure episodes. The bubbles pop up and wait for the player to select the arrow to “turn the page” before moving on. After the episode is introduced to the player, tasks/challenges begin (see photo above and below for examples.)
The game is progressive and does start with the easiest challenge concepts first. My six year old loved the challenges in episode one, while my eleven year old found episode two more her level. When they played together, they made a great team!
I personally played KNeoWorld episode 1 and 2 on my own and had a blast! My favorite challenge game was the number keypad. The sounds made by the keys remind me of those old wall phones I used to get tangled in while chatting with friends as a kid. Did you ever play the number game? That’s what the challenge is like — KNeoWorld reveals the number and you have to mimic it! Once episode 1 is complete and you are given Arcade access, players who love it (like me) can play onward with the number getting longer and longer with each challenge!
KNeoWorld stories and games will increase your child’s cognitive skills while appealing to their active imagination. Your child will love the KNeoWorld story and diverse cast of characters. You’ll love the difference you’ll see in their academic performance and intellectual curiosity.
