2 Must-haves for Camping on the Beach in Florida! #ad

June 27, 2016 by Victoria

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Banana Boat® and OFF!®. The opinions and texts are all mine.

I don’t know that there is anything my family loves more than tent camping on the beach here in Florida.  Going to sleep with a coastal breeze and the waves crashing is the best!   Getting up with the sunshine on the water and eating breakfast with the shore birds chirping — that is the paradise you won’t find in a hotel room.

Florida-Camping-Pensacola

My favorite travel memories are sitting at our campsite picnic table eating breakfast while our kids built sandcastles by the shore.  Our private beach in the Keys was everything I had hoped it would be.  Since that trip in 2013, we have camped near the shore in St. Augustine and Pensacola.  Each camping trip had three things in common: sand, sun; and bugs.   Our days were filled with sunshine that kissed our skin and sand that lingers; while our evening goal was to keep the bugs away.

For the past two weeks I have been preparing for our upcoming 4th of July weekend campout on Anastasia Island.  New camping gear is on the way and I found everything else we needed at Walmart.

Banana-Boat-Sun-Comfort

Water resistant Banana Boat® SunComfort is going to be a great addition to our beach bag because the sand easily brushes off when in use.  We really don’t enjoy lingering sand — especially not during a three day campout!

About Banana Boat® SunComfort:

Water resistant formula (up to 80 minutes)
Allows Sand to easily brush off
Moisturizes to relieve dryness
Provides safe and effective broad spectrum UVA and UVA protection
Available in SPF 30 and 50+

Thankfully, camping and the beach can take a lot out of the kids; they are usually asleep before the summer sun sets!  After everyone is resting, my husband and I enjoy sitting outside of the campsite together. We’re thankful for OFF!® personal repellents protecting us from being bitten during our alone time.

Off-Active-Walmart

For camping in Florida, I recommend OFF!® Active® because it is sweat resistant.  All OFF!® products can easily be found in the outdoor department at Walmart.

OFF!® Usage:

Shake well before using!

Hold container 6 to 8 inches from skin or clothing and spray with a slow sweeping motion. Do not apply over cuts, wounds, irritated or sunburned skin. Do not spray in enclosed areas. Use just enough repellent to cover exposed skin and/or clothing. Avoid over-application of this product. Frequent reapplication and saturation are unnecessary. Do not allow children to handle this product. Do not apply to children’s hands. When using on children, apply to your own hands and then put it on the child. After returning indoors, wash treated skin with soap and water. Spread evenly with hands to moisten all exposed skin.

TO APPLY TO FACE: Spray palm of hand first and then apply sparingly and avoid eyes. Do not spray directly onto face. Do not apply near eyes and mouth. Apply sparingly around ears.

Do not use under clothing. Spray shirts, pants, socks, and hats. For ticks and chiggers also spray cuffs, socks and around other openings in outer clothing. Will not damage cotton, wool, or nylon. Do not apply on or near: acetate, rayon, spandex or other synthetics (other than nylon), furniture, plastics, watch crystals, leather and painted or varnished surfaces including automobiles
