Coloring your hair at home can be a rude awakening especially if the color you ended up with is not what you intended. This is how it works. You’ll answer a series of questions that will help your personal colorist determine which shade will be best for you, such as:
- Select your natural hair color.
- How much gray do you have?
- Which shade is closest to your natural hair color?
- Which type of hair color do you have currently? Example: highlights or all-over color.
- Do you use Demi or Permanent color?
- What other treatments have you had in last 6 months?
- When is the last time your colored your hair?
And there are a few more about ethnicity, eye color, etc. It is very detailed, as you can see. You’ll get through these in just a few minutes and the results are amazing!
I went through all of the steps and selected a color, uploaded 3 current images of my hair color, and made a few notes to the colorist before submitting everything.
Within an hour I received an email that read, “We’ve Crafted a more flattering color for you.” I have to admit, that made me a little nervous at first, but then I realized that the colorist has way more experience than I do, so I should listen to her expertise!

I decided that if I was going to review this product and service, I had to go with it. Boy, am I glad I did! The color they selected for me is beautiful and surprisingly enough, it is what I envisioned when I originally made my selection! My hair is soft, manageable again, and the gray is gone!
Everything I needed to color my hair was included in the kit when it arrived: color + developer, 2 pairs of non-latex gloves, Heart Lock It Color Safe Shampoo, Love Unconditionally Color Safe Conditioner, Stain Guard, and Stain Remover. Because my hair is long, they sent a second bottle to ensure a consistent overall color. I was all set! By the way, it was nice to be ready to begin without a trip to the beauty store for more supplies.
