A few years ago my husband did something that left a lasting impression on all of our kids. We were living on a large property and the owner had a few junk cars stored away from the house. When my husband was leaving for work, he heard kittens/cats screaming and could tell they were in distress. He dropped everything and went running towards the sound. He found them stuck inside the cab of a pickup truck. Worse. The kittens were stuck inside a bucket of oil! He removed the three babies and called for the mommy cat to follow him (she was who was giving the loud distress screams.)
Inside the house, the kids and I didn’t know he was still home. When he came running into the kitchen, holding kittens and a mommy cat following behind him, we had no idea what what happening. He placed the kittens in the kitchen sink and started to wash them.
We were all very confused.
Oil?
My oldest children and I soon took over washing the oil off the kittens for him. He showered, changed into a fresh uniform (deputy), and went to work telling the unbelievable story of why he was late.
It has been five years since he saved these three kittens (pictured below). My children still look at him in admiration when they tell their #MySuperDadStory to others.
