Breakups to Makeup
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love makeup and anything to do with skin care. It makes me FEEL better, no matter what is going on in my life. Breakups to Makeup is a company who prides themselves on looking at the positive instead of the negative things in this world, such as a bad breakup or a devastating disease.
Educator, makeup artist and now CEO, Angelique Velez founded Breakups to Makeup in 2013 because she wanted to send a message to everyone that makeup is more than a coverup. It’s an art form, a creative outlet for those who wear it. She made a company that is centered around her fun and quirky sayings such as, “Love Raised Me, Lipstick Saved Me.”
B2M (Breakups to Makeup) sells fun shirts, quirky bags and zany accessories. And, I was very fortunate to receive some great pieces. You can never have too many fun accessories that also are functional.
I received a v-neck tee shirt that said, “I’m Only Helpless While My Nails Are Drying.” I wore it to the grocery store the other day and must have been stopped three times while getting bread and milk. The comments ranged from, “I LOVE YOUR SHIRT!” to “Ain’t that the truth?!”
Women can relate to everyone of these fun, fearless sayings Ms. Velez puts on her products. I, for one, am very pleased with them. My teenage daughter wore a very fun, lightweight crop top to school the other day sporting the saying, “You Can’t Makeup With Us!” on it. Even thought it’s a crop top, it’s not short. I feel like their sizes run a little big. But, I’m okay with that. My daughter did wear a tank top under this shirt because, after all, she’s only 15 and I’m not ready for her to show her belly button off.
Among the other items I was excited to receive was a canvas tote bag, a makeup clutch, and a pocket mirror. The canvas tote is perfect for mornings at the farmer’s market, going to the grocery store or hanging out at the beach. The make-up clutch is great for holding all my essentials including lipstick, money and chapstick. Oh, and the mirror fits nicely in the little clutch as well. You can never have too many mirrors!
B2M has a brand new clutch that states, “Mommy’s Makeup, My Rules.” This is a bag that would fit nicely in a diaper bag or pocketbook. This clutch is made of natural colored canvas and shows lipstick and nail polish.
