Simple solutions help me keep my baby safe AND warm
With simple guidelines and added awareness, instances of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) have plummeted. One of the measures instituted was to stop allowing our babies to sleep with lots of plush, loose things in the crib.
That presented a new set of problems for mothers: how do we keep our littles ones warm at night without covers? A favorite solution is to have my child in a wearable blanket or pouch of sorts, and ErgoPouch has one for every season!
About ErgoPouch:
Babies sleep best in natural fibres.
A beautifully designed, award winning range of super soft, natural fibre swaddle bags, sleeping bags and suits to give your family a safe and comfortable night’s sleep.
ErgoPouch has created a sleep solution for every need! They use natural materials so your child’s body can breathe, and to treat your baby’s skin better. This Australian brand’s dedicated US website is easy to browse, with a handy quiz to help you figure out which to get.
Their adorable prints will have you wanting to keep them on all day, and the stretchy sides allow your baby to move.
ErgoPouch Sleeping Bags:
ErgoPouch creates their sleeping bags in fun prints and two sizes. They are versatile, and the different weights mean that there’s something for everyone. The two sizes take children from 2-36 months, so you have something for the first three years of your child’s life!
They include a snap opening and zip-up bottom so that you can have easy access for midnight diaper changes.
The tag has a thermometer/chart that measures the temperature of the room and lets you know which weight of ergoPouch to use! The stretchy sides and shoulders make it less bulky, and more suitable for sleeping. But the overall weight of the 3.5 tog option is that of a quilt.
We got the size 2-12 months in 3.5 tog for our new baby on the way. While our apartment is well-heated, we know that there are some days when the heating simply can’t keep up. With my toddler, we really struggled with keeping him warm. The same happened (and still happens!) any time we visited my parents and slept in their cool basement.
ErgoPouch offers a full-weight option for winter so that we can know our little one will be warm all year long.
ErgoPouch Sleep Suit Bags:
While my toddler is already big enough to sleep with a blanket, he usually kicks it off in his sleep. He catches cold a lot, and his doctor told us to let his bedroom air out, and keep the window open even in the winter.
We hate doing that, as it can get quite cold, and he is usually uncovered most of the night. So a wearable blanket seems the only solution. But what do you do when you have a walker?
When we first tried the ergoPouch Sleep Suit bags on M, I was sure it would be too short as he’s a tall boy. But it fit beautifully, even allowing some room for growth! And he did NOT want to take off his “cozy new ‘jamas”.
The Sleep Suit bag is just like the sleeping bag, except the zipper on the bottom splits and allows you to reconnect it to form legs. It also has padded slipper soles for slip-free walking.
It includes full sleeves, sensitive materials, and a soft inside for utmost comfort. And once again, it comes in three weights for every season.
ErgoPouch has managed to pinpoint all of my problems with putting my child to sleep and keeping him warm, and solved them with a lot of innovation and a touch of genius! Their clever solutions span baby and toddlerhood and offer versatility and value.
