As parents we want to share our family photos with friends and family, but we don’t always want to share them with the world. This is how many photo sharing applications have failed us over the years — they rarely understand the need to share AND still be private. With Trunq, we can save and share our photos with only those we choose. By default, content is always added to each users private Trunq until the user selects who and when to share it with outside of their account.
When you submit content to Trunq, the content is private by default. You have control over what you share. We do not share your content or make the content public without your consent. Access is limited only to those applications and services you authorize. Content that you make available to third parties may become publicly available. — Information derived from Trunq privacy policy.
Save things only to your Trunq, or share them directly with your loved ones.
Mom’s Thoughts:
Trunq is user friendly, largely thanks to the navigation being very straight forward. Users don’t need to spend days learning how to use the Trunq before they begin. I was able to get started in seconds!
I like that Trunq is a much more private way to share your family photos with your friends and family. You can even connect with those you love who aren’t utilizing social media by sending them a Trunq via text message or email.
After utilizing the app a little, I believe one of the greatest benefits of Trunq is the ability to also add PDF files and audio to your Trunq. This is something that you cannot do within other photo sharing apps — I like that the developers didn’t limit files to photo or video only.
Accessibility is awesome! You can access and ADD to your Trunq from your desktop, laptop, android, or via iOS too! (Some features on limited using the online versions.)
The “draw” feature is okay but could be better. Everything I draw looks like my child did it. Maybe using a stylus would make it better?
Find what you want:
Searching for what you stored on Trunq is easy because you can search by date, file type, who sent you the item/file, or by bundles. It’s much easier to find what you need when you have so many search formats to chose from.
Trunqs are organized on a timeline by date. If you change the date of an item in your trunq, the item will move to that date. Using Trunq’s filter mode, you also can find items in your trunq by searching for who sent you items, the type of file, or just view the Laters or Bundles.
What’s a “Later” and Why?
I think “Laters” are neat because you can save them for later, much later, next year, or the year after even! If you take a great photo of your loved one today and think it will be perfect to send them on their birthday — you can! Just choose to send the Trunq later, and pick the date!

Overall, I think Trunq is a fantastic application/service for families who want to keep their family photos, videos, and audio private but still want to share them with those they love. The ability to access Trunq on any platform means all of the teens and adults in your family can #TrunqIt regardless of their technology abilities. Send a Trunq to Grandma on her phone or via email — it couldn’t be easier!
