When I was a young child, I was obsessed with four-leafed clovers and the thought of receiving “good luck” when I found one. As a clumsy child who was often on the less-than-lucky side of things, I needed all the luck I could get my hands on! I was so fascinated by this legend I grew my own clovers and didn’t allow my family to cut the grass near our wild clover patch — I was going to find one! I spent entire afternoons with a magnifying glass sitting in the grass searching for my lucky clover. I will never forget the day my best friend came over, asked what I was doing, and said “Oh! There’s one!” …. she plucked the four-leafed clover out of my patch like it was a ripe strawberry and left me flabbergasted. I put away my magnifying glass and ran away (so unfair).
While I never found my lucky clover, I still enjoy St. Patrick’s Day and sharing the holiday by making crafts with my children.

I’m pretty fortunate that my big kids still enjoy crafting with me, even as teens. My girls actually love to decorate for the holidays and look forward to making crafts that can be used as decorations. This year my girls and I have a crush on this mod podge vase (above), and the topiaries (below).
