If you ask me classic toys have never lost their appeal. With so many toys requiring batteries, its good to see some that rely on imagination for power.
Ohio Art made famous the Etch a Sketch in the 60’s. Like many toys of that era it was big, brightly colored, and no batteries required. It’s good to see that this classic has held out. With many children today tending to choose video games over other toys, Etch-a-Sketch seems to have still remained popular.
Much like the old school 60’s counterpart, Etch a Sketch today has stayed almost identical. The familiar gray screen surrounded by the red body with two white knobs. Twist the knobs and as if by magic a thin black line appears. I like that it has a slimmer profile and the knobs feel robust in my hands, I played with it quite a lot in fact. My children loved trying to recreate things and write secret notes to each other, which with a quick shake disappear.

I love Ohio Arts Etch a Sketch. It offers hours of offline fun and helps to develop hand eye coordination. It survives my toddler’s constant drops and tumbles, and other than losing your picture it remains unscathed. I myself spent time reliving my childhood and twisted away and hours or two.
