#DIY Christmas Stocking Wreath #DIYChristmas #Craft

December 22, 2015 by Pam Maynard

Want to make a fun, different type of Christmas wreath for your front door in a hurry? I have the most simple, cute, fun wreath that is so easy to make and only takes about 10 minutes!

Are you looking for something different for your front door?  Me too! I wanted to add something new and different than the traditional circle wreath, so I decided to use a stocking I found for $1.00 and jazz it up with some Christmas beauties!

Begin I stuffed old paper in the bottom to make it look “stuffed”. I used packing paper, but old newspaper would work just as well. Stuffing the stocking is great because if you don’t, it doesn’t look as good, it looks flat.

I then arranged my flower bunches. Now, I didn’t use too many “flowers”, just a few bunches, and combined it with glittery ball bunches and little red flower sprigs. You don’t have to glue them in there or anything. They will stay if you poke the “stems” of the bunches into the paper filling. They will stay tightly.   It’s been really windy at my house lately and there haven’t been any problems with the filling staying in the stocking.

The front of the stocking was just red.  Deciding to spruce it up, I took a “tag” ornament, removed the hanger string and hot glued it to the front.  The top of the tag is the only thing glued so it gives  a little 3D movement to the front.

After all that was done, I realized that it needed a way to hang on my door. I took a ribbon and glued it on the back of the stocking. This ribbon can be any size that you like, depending on how high or low you want it to hang on the door.  The one I used for this wreath had cute candy canes on it.

I imagine that with this cute Stocking hanging on your door, many people will want to know where you purchased it.  You could actually make them for your friends and family for gifts, sell them, have many different varieties for the holidays.  Have fun and HAPPY CRAFTING!
