Acne has been a HUGE problem for my teenager. She is not excited to have NON-perfect skin. Most teenagers are like that and we, as parents, try to make it better by buying ever type of face cleanser on the store shelves. Rodan and Fields, Stanford-trained dermatologists, have developed a skin care line that has blew me away.
I was sent the entire Unblemish regimen for acne and post acne marks. The regimen includes four steps, instructions and tips for helping acne. I was also sent a soothing cream from another of their lines in case my daughter’s skin dried out too much. She started the regimen as soon as we received it.
The first morning of her using it, she noticed (and informed me) that there was less irritation on her face. I did notice a lack of redness that she has been showing for a few years now. Because the regimen calls for the person using it to gradually ease their way into using it, (using it everyday by the fourth week), she is on week 2 of her treatment and there already are less breakouts, very little irritation, and her skin is getting smoother.
There are four steps in the Unblemish program. The first step (and all the bottles are labeled) is the Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash. During the time that you are easing into the regimen, you continue to use your previous face wash. Eventually, my daughter will be using this was twice a day. The face wash doesn’t bubble up like some. It’s a gentle cream wash, that cleans her face thoroughly. However, this is not a makeup remover. It says so on the package. So, she uses makeup removing wipes and then she washes her face.
The second step is the Spot Fading Toner. She hasn’t ever used toner before, but basically, toner wipes away everything that the cleanser leaves behind including film from the wash (they all leave a film) and excess dirt. She says that the toner is cold when you wipe it on (use a cotton pad or cotton ball for this step). Then after it dries, you can apply the next step.
The third step is the Dual Intensive Acne Treatment. Its a dual chamber pump, that you place on your blemishes. She says that it is creamy and it doesn’t burn. I have to say, her face is looking so much better than it was. She was so broke out and overtime she’d get a new breakout, she’d get so upset and tell me how bad they hurt.
The fourth (and final) step is the Oil Control Lotion. She uses a fingertip amount of this lotion and it is enough for her whole face. It also has an SPF 20 in it since sunscreen is a huge element in skin care. This cream is gentle and it keeps the shine off your face. She likes this cream.
I was also sent a Moisture Replenishing Cream. This is for IF her face gets too dry. She’s used it one time since she started this treatment. It moisturized her face and it was also gentle.
I’ve noticed that she’s told me that all the steps were gentle and soothing to her irritated skin. She looks fantastic and I’m so relieved to see her finally clearing up after several years of trying to help her.
