Do you ever walk by your Christmas tree after you have it up and notice a space in between branches where you can see the tree trunk? Do you stand back and look and notice places that need another ornament? I have a 12 foot tree in my living room and I try my best to get it decorated evenly every year. However, I always see places that could just use an ornament or that may need a bigger ornament. No matter how much time I spend on it, I still find things I want to move around or I find places I want to add something.
If you stop and really examine yourself, you may find your life is that way also. There are people all around us that are looking for something, or someone, to fill any empty place or hole in their life or heart. Many people try to find that fulfillment in another person, some try to find it in a hobby or job. Sadly, some try to find it in a bottle or pill. There is just something that maybe they cannot put their finger on, or even verbalize, but something is missing!
You CAN Fill those Holes in your Tree!
Every living being was designed and created by a Divine Creator. He is the only One that can fill the empty places, the lonely places, the places craving for something yet never finding fulfillment. Just like that tree that needs something placed where the hole is, we need Jesus to fill the place in our hearts where the hole is at.
Take some time this Christmas season, slow down from all the crazy busy days, and reflect on the condition of your heart and soul. Do you have a hole that needs to be filled? Are you longing for something or someone? Jesus can fill that longing!
