Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Piano lessons, guitar lessons, dance, gymnastics, singing, and dozens upon dozens of talent shows … the list is endless but music was the central theme. Hey, what can I say, my mom and dad were really supportive of anything we wanted to try! Needless to say, it stuck with me. I even have memories of mom asking why it was so easy for me to remember song lyrics but not my school lessons. 😉
When I became a parent, my love of music increased by leaps and bounds. This may or may not be because my daughter suffered from colic and music seemed to be the only thing that calmed her; Christmas music to be exact! Since then, it’s been a staple in our home and she is picking up some the same habits that mommy did as a kid.
Anytime we are near a radio, there is music on, it’s just our thing. The problem is, music has changed a lot and so have the radio stations. There was also a really cool surprise in the package that I received. A rather awesome idea courtesy of KIDZ BOP and ARM & HAMMER; a new Music in Your Mouth, Tooth Tunes toothbrush! For starters, yes, I said this is really cool and I meant it! During a routine checkup, we recently found out that my little one has a few cavities. Since she brushes her teeth twice a day, I couldn’t figure out how this was possible but the dentist informed me that there are two problems. First, she isn’t hitting all of the zones she needs to hit. Second, she isn’t brushing long enough. Thanks to our Tooth Tunes toothbrush, I hope one of those problems will easily be resolved and I’ll work on the other!
