Mom’s Thoughts:
Baby Boy and Baby Girl both prefer diaper changes with a warm wipe instead of a cold one. I loved the Ever Fresh pad from Prince Lionheart. I think it really made difference in keeping the wipes fresh and free from burning. Our wipes have never burned or experienced discoloration from our wipes warmer system.
The wipes included with the system are a soft bamboo and can be washed with gentle laundry soap (with an extra rinse to make sure no laundry soap residue is remaining — will be in contact with baby’s skin). The wipes are smaller than I would prefer as a cloth diaper mom, but they fit better inside the wipes warmer than my non-branded cloth wipes stash does.
Important Note: In regards to the temperature of the wipes, no matter how many wipes were inside, one or ten, the wipes were always the perfect temperature and I never experienced an overheated wipe.
For my family, our biggest issue with the wipes warmer has been staying on top of it. (It is one of those products that is only as good as the person using it.) There are four of us in the home who will frequently perform diaper changes — with so many people grabbing wipes, it can be hard to stay on top of how many wipes we go through in a day. I have caught the system still in use/plugged in without any wipes inside because my teenagers didn’t understand that you cannot leave the wipes warmer empty. When this happens the Ever Fresh pad will dry out and turn color. Replacement pads can be purchased separately – I do recommend you have two on hand, especially when you are learning to implement the system for the first time.
