Are you ready to decorate your Christmas tree with homemade ornaments? Or, do you need an afternoon project that has a duel purpose? Frosty and SnowBell will not only make you smile, they will make all your Christmas guests smile as well! These cute little snowman faces make the sweetest and unique ornaments that will brighten up your holidays and your Christmas tree.
These snowmen are so easy to make. Of course, I’ve named them, Frosty and SnowBelle. Below is what you’ll need and how you make them. They should only take you a few minutes to assemble.
You’ll need flameless tea light candles, however many ornaments you want to make, that’s how many you’ll need. They come in multi packs and they are really inexpensive. You will also need a glue gun and embellishments.
The embellishments are easy. If you cannot find the hat or bows, or they are expensive, you can always make them. They are so easy. I made my hat using the tealight candle as a guide.
For Frosty’s top hat, I used a sheet of black foam, cut out a strip for the hat, and two different sized circles for the top and bottom. I glued them together to make the hat. I then took a piece of the red ribbon and glued it around it to make the hat band. There’s nothing to this. I love foam sheets. If you don’t have any, get some. You can use them for all kinds of crafts.
What do you think of my final hat?
I first made the hanger out of red ribbon. I did the hanger first because once I added everything else, I didn’t want to mess up the ornament by turning it over.
I made eyes and mouths out of acrylic paints, I just free-handed them using a fine brush. You can always use google-eyes or sequins (if you can find them small enough). Another option for making the eyes and mouth would be a fine point permanent marker.
Attach the bow or hat, this is the last step in getting dressed, after all! And the cute little snow couple are ready to adorn the Christmas Tree!
I love these easy ornaments. Not only are they cute and unique, they light up! How many of your store bought ornaments light up?
The kids can help you make them, just be careful with the hot glue. However you dress your Frosty and SnowBelle up, I’m sure everyone who visits your home and sees your Christmas Tree will love them and wonder where you found them! What a joy it will be to tell your guests that you are crafty and made them with your own two hands!
Merry Christmas!
