Why I Love my Shark:
Having chronic back issues, I really despise vacuuming. It’s just one of those activities that kills my back. We have pets of almost every variety in our home so we usually find that those “pet vacuums” work best to get up all the dog hair. Those pet vacs are SO heavy, I have a hard time vacuuming even one room in our house. I was very excited when I tried the Shark Rocket Powerhead in New York City at a Blogging Convention. It was so light it felt self-propelled. I assumed it was just because of the type of setting the Shark representative had it set on.
I was so wrong! The Shark Rocket IS very light- it only weighs NINE pounds! AND, it does still feel like it is self-propelled! I can vacuum the entire downstairs and I can still stand upright after. SHHH, don’t tell hubby, he likes to use the new Shark so I don’t let on how much I like it too!
One reason I can vacuum without causing more back pain is the adjustable height of the handle. I can have it where it is the proper height for me. Hubby can change it if he wants as well. Because the vacuum is so light, I can actually use one hand to vacuum. I can also think about proper body mechanics because I don’t have to fight to get the vacuum to go where I want it.
I love how convenient all the adjustments and buttons are. The handle has the on/off and power settings right at your fingertips. The Powerhead has been designed so that the powerful motor and the dust cup fit into the head and don’t take up space and weight on another part of the vacuum. The dust cup has a foot pedal to release the cup. Just pull the cup out of the base, empty it with one hand into the trash and push it back into the vacuum to close.
The Powerhead comes with 2 brushrolls- making it the first of its kind with “brushroll garage” style access. Thea removable brushrolls can be cleaned by rinsing them with water. It is super easy to change the brushrolls. I was disappointed when I first saw that there were 2 brushes. Once I swapped them out, I realized that Shark had thought of almost everything!
The only thing that I would add to make this the PERFECT vacuum is a removable wand to clean the corners and under things. The Powerhead just doesn’t reach EVERYTHING. I do have other vacuums with telescoping wands, but I love the Shark so much, I haven’t cleaned the corners lately.
Overall, I love how easy it is to maneuver the Shark, change Brushrolls and empty the dust cup. It’s a great vacuum for anyone that needs a lightweight and powerful machine!
