I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Influence Central for WaterWipes. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Mom Does Reviews has been working with WaterWipes in preparation for our review of their pure wipes for baby. This month, we learned a lot about how baby’s skin works and what goes into the their wipes. That was the amazing part for us, and it is the first thing we want to share with you. We are amazed at how little goes into their wipes solution. The only two ingredients they use to moisten their wipes is 99.9% Water and 0.1% Grapefruit seed extract! This is how they can proudly proclaim to be the “the world’s purest baby wipes.”
WaterWipes are Chemical Free!
Babies’ skin absorb everything! Any liquid that is left on their body is absorbed by their skin, regardless if it is “good” for them or not. Did you know that a common result of chemical absorption is rash?
Any product applied to the skin and not rinsed off can be readily absorbed. The absorption of such substances in contact with the skin is greater in newborns and infants for three reasons: their skin is thinner, there is a high ratio between skin surface area and body weight and the skin is covered by a sort of down that increases the absorbent surface [4].
For this reason it is preferable that water alone is used for cleaning newborn and young infant skin, i.e. no chemical cleansing agents, lotions of medicated wipes should be used on infant skin [8].

Attention parents of children with diaper rash, sensitive skin, and/or eczema! WaterWipes is recognized by the National Eczema Association as being the only baby wipe with absolutely no chemicals, receiving a 4 out of 5 Seal of Acceptance Rating!
Mom Does Reviews WaterWipes Review
Upon examination of the product packaging I learned that they cannot be removed and placed inside alternative containers or wipes warmers. WaterWipes explains this as follows:
Unlike many other wipe brands, WaterWipes are not interfolded. This allows for the sterile environment within the package to be maintained. For the same reason, we recommend that you do not relocate the wipes in an alternate container.
Furthermore: Like all wipes, WaterWipes have an expiration date. [They] recommend opening within fifteen months of the production date and using the pack within one month of opening. The production date and expiration date is printed on the back of the pack.
How do they feel? WaterWipes feel good in my hands. Comparatively (only to give you an idea of what to expect), they feel similar to other premium wipes that are commonly used on newborn babies.
I was impressed by how strong they were. So much so, that I decided to put their strength to the test by tearing them. The result: they didn’t tear! After several minutes of stretching and forcefully attempting to tear the wipes they didn’t tear for me. I don’t think I have ever experienced a wipe not tear when forcefully attempting to do so. Impressive!
The photo above shows the result of being ultra forceful with our WaterWipes, attempting to tear them. You can see my fingers did stretch the fibers but the wipe did not tear.
Have you used a baby wipe to clean your child’s face or nose before, and it resulted in them crying? Many of us assume they are crying because they don’t want to have their face cleaned, in reality, it is likely because the wipe stung/burned their face — especially if they have dry skin around the nose during a cold.
WaterWipes is safe to use on your child’s face, it won’t burn or sting. Many people also use WaterWipes between bathing times as they are more gentle on a baby’s skin.
Mom’s Recommendations:
WaterWipes offers families the benefit of a strong wipe while keeping their promise of being chemical free. They work exceptionally well and don’t require excessive use of multiple wipes do the job.
The product packaging allows for the wipes to travel easily in most diaper bags. We have tested their portability in small totes and not experienced any inconvenience.
Mom Does Reviews recommends WaterWipes to all families who wish to use a disposable wipe with their child at home or while traveling. We have confirmed their softness and gentle solution that is safe to use anywhere on baby’s delicate skin.
