Does your family LOVE “Liv and Maddie”? Make sure you watch the show this Sunday with your kids because it is a special episode featuring Andy Grammer. If your child is like mine, you probably already know about this episode because he/she has been talking about it all week!
“Liv and Maddie” episode “SPARF-a-Rooney” – Maddie and Diggie try to “out-fun” each other at a local music festival as Liv tries to help Andie get over her breakup. This episode of “Liv and Maddie” airs Sunday, August 16 (9:00 PM – 9:30 PM ET/PT), on Disney Channel. (Disney Channel/Adam Taylor).
Last month I joined a team of bloggers to visit the set of Liv and Maddie and meet the cast. They were very entertaining, even while off camera. They shared stories of their time together and they reminded me of a real family – you know, when you are sitting around the Thanksgiving table sharing stories of dumb things your siblings did as a child? It was a little like that, but without the table and the turkey.
The cast let us in on what it is like to shoot a series in comparison to a movie. They also gave us a little backstory on the stow — We didn’t realize that the show wasn’t originally called Liv and Maddie and it also wasn’t a twin show. The cast said they shot the pilot episode and then it went into months of testing before coming back with the twin revision. My daughter really loved learning about this, so if you are looking for a great conversation starter with your tween this weekend – go with that! “Did you know Liv and Maddie wasn’t supposed to be a twin show?”
Who was the highlight of our set visit?
Joey Bragg was the highlight of our visit, he made sure everyone was laughing, and continued to laugh, until we left! I hope we get to see a lot more from him in the future as he was such a blast to spend a few moments with. He and Dove shared an accident that happened early in on the show’s season — the show is actually a few days behind in filming this season because they had to shut down production thanks to Joey stabbing Dove in the face.
JOEY : Second day of rehearsal, I stabbed her [Dove] in the face.
DOVE : I haven’t told anyone that was you by the way.
JOEY : Oh I told everybody. I didn’t tell your Lawyers. We sat down for a week or so and that’s like shutting down Production for a week when our schedule is written out by the week, by the episode, by Table Read, by everything.
DOVE : Every minute.
JOEY : So when you shut down for a week and you’re budgeted for that week — that’s like a big thing. So now we’re filming 301 that we were, that we missed because we had to shut down.
KALI : (Kali Rocha)Cause of you. No no, I’m just saying…
Why you should watch Liv & Maddie this weekend?
Because your kids will love you for it AND it is actually an entertaining show. In preparation for my trip to LA I watched the entire first season while I worked at night. My daughter loved sneaking into my room to watch it with me after everyone else was asleep and it was a wonderful bonding experience for us. No go! Get ready to bond with your kids this weekend over a super cute Disney Channel show!
