About Carmex:
Carmex lip balm was invented in 1937 by Alfred Woelbing, literally on the family stovetop. For the next 20 years, Alfred and his wife made Carmex by hand and poured it into the familiar yellow-capped jars.
Eventually production moved out of the Woelbing home and into a rented facility in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where it remained until the move in 1975 to its current site in Franklin, Wisconsin.
Carma Labs employs about 100 people and is still owned and operated by the family: Alfred’s grandsons Eric and Paul Woelbing. The Woelbing stove is now used for cooking things the family can actually eat.

My thoughts:
My hubby has been a faithful user of Carmex since the day I met him and quite a few years before that. I don’t think he ever bought the Carmex that was made in the Woelbing home, but it was pretty close! He uses it before bed and throughout the day. While Carmex is non-addicting, habits are addicting. 🙂 He used to tease me that his lips were softer than mine. I didn’t really like the Carmex in the yellow-capped jars. I think it was the whole act of sticking my finger into it rather than just using a tube of lip balm.
I was very thrilled to get the “Girly” version of Carmex! Shhh, don’t tell my son he is using the Girly version. He likes it too. The other Limited Edition Carmex we received were “adventurous,” “chic” and “startlet” to name a few. Each one has a fashionable pattern on the package and tube. You can pick the one that goes best with your outfit, your purse, your shoes or just your mood! The”Adventurous” pink-striped one is my favorite.
This Carmex- the Moisture Plus lip balm has SPF 15 sunscreen. I won’t wear any lip balm that does not contain sunscreen. I also love the slight vanilla flavor. I never really cared for the taste of the Yellow-topped jars. This Moisture Plus is a lip gloss too. I love products that do double duty! I usually put on some kind of chapstick, then my tinted lip gloss. Now, I may just use Carmex Moisture plus as my lip gloss and go for the natural look! I love that it contains Aloe and Vitamin E. Now MY lips are softer than hubby’s!
