Check out Ore-Ida’s Fry Sauce Recipe HERE.
Our family table is more like a war room meeting. We have two in highchairs and a preschooler who needs to be in one. He does a lot of screaming. The tween, teens, and parents attempt to have conversations regarding our schedule and schooling while being yelled at by a four year old who is diving out of his chair and throwing food.
For those who don’t know, my four year old has Sensory Processing Disorder and one of our biggest hurdles is that he doesn’t eat. His current “go-to” food is french fries and ketchup. When everything else is being tossed onto the floor, we have Ore-Ida to provide a little distraction (and quiet.)
Another way Ore-Ida is bringing on the distractions at the dinner table is with their #FindYourBOLD dinner table discussions. These are BOLD images that have discussion prompts on them. Hop over to the #FindYourBOLD Pinterest board for some BOLD discussion ideas. Some of the topic ideas are important ones, and others are silly. All of the topic starters promote family bonding. Example:
“If you could invent something to solve a world problem, what would it be?”
“If you could create your own TV Channel, what shows would be on it?”
One of our most humorous topics of discussion at the dinner table this week was the origin of the name Ore-Ida. My son had a light bulb moment that left us all a little dumbfounded. He says “Ore-Ida. I wonder if they are made in Oregon and Idaho.”
My husband, teen daughter, and I all looked at him like he was a genius because that has never occurred to any of us before! So, for those who don’t know it, Ore-Ida is made on the Oregon and Idaho line (which is a few miles from our house actually…. yes, we feel even dumber now.)
To go along with our #FindYourBOLD discussions this week, we have also enjoyed many of the new BOLD & Crispy flavors Ore-Ida offers. The fry varieties shown in my photos are Ore-Ida Bold & Crispy Smoky BBQ Oven Chips and Ore-Ida Bold & Crispy Zesty Twirls. Believe it or not there are still three more flavors we didn’t try yet! – Grab your $1 Off Coupon, give them a try, and let me know what you think of them in the comments below!
What will you serve with your Ore-Ida?
We enjoy Ore-Ida often because they are on our son’s “go-to” list right now. The meal shown in this post is one of our favorites: Veggie Chicken sandwiches, baked beans, Ore-Ida fries, and a pickle. (I saw where someone piled on the Smoky BBQ Oven Chips onto their sandwich, and I’m thinking we may need to try that next time. Better yet, potato sandwiches – YES!)
Look at all those seasonings!!!
What do you and your family talk about at the dinner table?
