I have a confession to make. I have a cloth wipes addition. I used to make my own but I was never overly satisfied with them. After Baby Boy was born I received a few packs of cloth wipes to try; one of those packs was from Brooklyn Bamboo. As someone who is very new to bamboo products and I wasn’t sure what to expect -WOW they are certainly soft! So soft I wasn’t sure if I should be using them as a wipe because I’d rather use them as a washcloth for me!
When I first received my wipes/wash cloths they were beautifully packaged with little green ribbon/bows. I loved how cute this was and I think it makes for a wonderful baby shower gift when it is packed this way. One problem, I noticed when you untie the ribbon that it creates a small snag. With each one I untied, I tried to be more gentle, but all ended up with a tiny snag afterwards. I was pretty disappointed with how easily they were snagging and if I had completed my review immediately after my first afternoon with them I would have given them an unpleasant review. The great thing is, I don’t do my reviews that quickly. I believe I should truly be using a product before I write about it. This helps to make sure my findings are accurate. So, instead of writing my 24 hour after arrival, “what’s up with the snags” review. I was able to wash and use the product multiple times over the course of a week. My view of these wipes today is much different than it was upon arrival. Much different.
My Brooklyn Bamboo Wipes and Bibs are just like my favorite cloth diapers, the more you wash them, the better! Each time you wash the wipes and bibs, the stitching gets tighter and they become more durable. The softness that is felt on the first day continues with each wash, and after approximately five wash cycles (wash & dry) you have an organic bamboo cloth wipe/washcloth that is durable and luxuriously soft!
Cloth diaper mamas who uses oils in their wipes solution recipes, will have a truly pampered baby bum! The combination of warm water and oil, with the Brooklyn Bamboo wipe is very gentle on baby. I can’t imagine any other material that would be softer.

They feel the same and they are fluffier the more you wash them; just like the wipes are. The snap isn’t too firm and is easy to remove from around Baby Boy’s neck. I have to be careful to wash them immediately because we overlooked one in the dining room for a few days (yes, I just said that), and when it was washed, it was difficult to remove the baby food from it. The fibers didn’t stain, but there was icky baby food stuck to the top that I needed to brush out. I used an old soft bristle toothbrush and now the bib is completely back to normal again.
Oh, I almost forgot, the bibs are also an over the shoulder burp cloth too – mutifunctional is best!
