Chef’d is a great new meal delivery service that boasts of being the “easiest way to cook like the pros”. Their recipe index includes recipes from celebrity-famous chefs and trusted culinary brands. We tried their Beef Bourguignon with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy last month as a surprise to my oldest two children. We eat mostly meat-free but when I saw the example photo, I knew my bigger bunch would be in love!

The front of the Chef’d recipe card includes information on your recipe, wine pairings, equipment you will need, what will be required that you should already have in your home, and Kitchen 411 (tips). We found this information very helpful in preparing the meal provided and informative for future reference.
The instructions are located on the backside of the card provided; along with ingredients, calorie count, allergen warnings, skill level, and spice level. We found the recipe’s instructions easy to follow and the step-by-step pictures really helped to make sure I was interpreting the directions correctly.
The kids loved their meal and my husband and I also managed to sneak a little taste for ourselves before serving too- it was really good. So good that we would love to reorder it again later! That is one feature about Chef’d that I truly love – the the ability to reorder your favorite meal, as many times you’d like. I love that customers don’t have to wait for their favorite meal to come back into the rotation before they can order it again! If I’m craving that amazing Beef Bourguignon with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, I can order it and have it on my doorstep in two days!

Mom’s Thoughts:
I was amazed at the flavor provided in this meal. It was such a simple recipe to follow that I think my children can make this next time and we’ll have the same result. (Yes, there will be a next time!)
I had one complaint that Chef’d has received and is working to correct. My order included meat but it wasn’t separated enough for me. While the meat was separated from the rest of the ingredients by a packaging divider and cool packs, I would prefer to see the meat separated by both the divider AND a leak-proof packaging surrounding the meat only with additional cooling. I am confident that Chef’d understands this concern and is listening to the feedback they are provided by early testers.
