My bunch is always looking for veggie alternatives to most of our favorite recipes. While we haven’t found anything to substitute our craving for Hot Wings that can completely be considered “vegetarian”, we do have a Pescetarian alternative: Fiery Shrimp, a hot wing style shrimp appetizer.
In 2013, we visited Dirty Bird’s restaurant. Dirty Birds is known for their amazing bar food – specifically, their wings. We really wanted to try out the best of what they had to offer, but we didn’t want to waver off the veggie track too much. My brother suggested that they could make anything on their wings menu with a shrimp alternative instead. “Genius! Yes, please”
First, I have to say, please forgive me for not using jumbo shrimp! Jumbo shrimp works best if you are creating this recipe to serve as an appetizer. Since I am giving you a two-for-one hot wing style shrimp recipe, I opted for the middle road… “wait! two-for-one?”…
Why, yes! I didn’t get to that yet did I?
While I love this recipe as an appetizer, it works really, really good as a sandwich too. Take a look before you grab the recipe and take off (so good)…
